Cheap equipment is very tempting right now, but from someone who started out with next to nothing, I can honestly say, the amount of money I have spent over the years replacing that bargain pallet knife (that’s now warped), the piping bags (that suddenly burst ruining my cakes) or the too good to be true turn tables (that keeps sticking) would of not only bought me the best equipment several times over but all so not cost me the most expensive thing in my business……. my time and the stress I’ve put myself through.

It doesn’t need to be everything all at once, you can starting with the basics that you use on every cake and go from there as and when you can. A set of good quality piping tips, the professional grade cake tins or ganaching plates can be the difference between a good cake day and one that gives you guaranteed results every time for years to come.

If you want to get hands on with your equipment first, you’ll need an actual shop you can visit.
There’s less and less of us around now but if you’re in the Oldham/ Greater Manchester area you have us!
