Today I’m going start some much needed repair work on these beauties.

A History of the Earth and Animated Nature by Oliver Goldsmith.
Published by Blackie and Son.
No date but Preface suggests 1862.

This beautiful two volume set is quarter leather bound in black with gold detailing, marble effect edging.

Repairs:
Some stitching on volume one, new end papers for both volumes, new headbands on both volumes, leather to be re coated.🤓📚📚📚📚📚

So sorry we had to close the Ossett shop early today guys, open as usual next week.🤓📚📚📚.

The last thing we needed on one of our busiest days was electrical problems with lights and the camera system over the borders in our Barnsley shop.
It’s the Mothership, the heart of Foster’s.
So when the distress call came through, it was to the Bookmobile and ‘Book man’ to the rescue.

Shockingly (pardon the pun), the whole issue was identified and fixed in record time despite getting there and realising I’d not actually grabbed my tool bag.🤦🏻‍♂️

Anyway, She’s back up and running at full steam and the atmosphere is electric (sorry😂).
