👀 I’m having a little break🙈🎉☕️

The last 7 weeks have been a wonderful start to my journey back into business owner life.

Thankyou to everyone who has supported Merienda, whether that's physically or online via shares, likes, mentions - my own personal army of marketing legends

I look forward to coming to work everyday and all the baking and prepping involved 🍪🥹 You people are mad for cinnamon rolls, thankyou!

For the last couple of years my sisters and I spend some much needed time together (we live in different cities) which I look forward to and cherish.

*So l'll be closing Wednesday 16th September and reopening Wednesday 30th September*

Apologies in advance to anyone who had made plans to come and visit during that time, but I promise Merienda is worth the wait.

During the break I'll be reflecting on the last 7 weeks and getting loads of inspiration from independent businesses during my travels.

I'll also be planning for the "C" word, which I am obsessed with - but appreciate some don't want shoved in their faces in September 🙈🎄

So I'll see you this week for your daily fix, fingers crossed and then we'll have to go cold turkey until 30th. Please don't forget me 🤣

Opening a little later at 10 on Wednesday.

First day back at school for my children and I want to be there to make sure they go in - I mean, see them lovingly off 🤪

In all seriousness, good luck to all the parents and caregivers dropping their little ones off tomorrow (Thursday for some!) It'll be a sea of emotions - relief, sadness, confusion (why can we never find the right entrance?🙈) nostalgia, happiness, it's
different for everyone and just as valid.

For me the summer has gone far too quickly, although I know that's because I needed to follow my dreams and finally open Merienda. But I miss their little faces so much! 😭

Anyway, I digress!

On Wednesday I'II be open at 10 and I'Il be on hand to wipe your tears, high five you cos you're finally free, or a mixture of both.

Either way, I believe caffeine and cake is in order ☕️🍪📚

I’ve done a rubbish job of advertising one of my favourite morning drinks 🤪 - an iced matcha latte using rotating quality Japanese matcha producers.

I’m currently loving OMGTEA’s grade AAA organic matcha, which is a female founded B Corp certified company based in the UK 🎉

I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for 25 years and after selling my cafe in Far Headingley 6 years ago, I felt it was time to start again in this fabulous town 😍🎉

I was born in the Philippines, raised in Sunderland and settled in Yorkshire 🤪🇵🇭💫

Merienda is a homage to my culture and my community, I can’t wait to meet you all 😊
