💛 Today marks 50 years since Sobell House Hospice officially opened. 💛
Over the past 50 years, our hospice has been shaped by compassion, dedication, and innovation and guided by those who helped pioneer hospice care at a time when it was still emerging. From those early days to the present, our teams across the hospice, hospitals, and community have worked tirelessly to provide exceptional end-of-life care to people across Oxfordshire.
In 1976, we cared for 181 patients in our first year. Today, we support more than 5,000 patients annually, and behind every number is a person, a family, and a story, and it is a privilege to be part of each one.
This milestone is a moment to reflect, but above all, to express our deepest gratitude to our staff and volunteers, past and present, and to the incredible community of supporters who have made our work possible.
