I wish every 11+ parent knew about... the power of mindfulness.
My latest article for Bond 11+ shares calming mindfulness techniques to support confidence, emotional wellbeing and balanced exam preparation during the 11+ journey.
The 11+ is a competitive entrance exam taken in Year 6 for grammar and independent schools, testing English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. For many children, preparation runs alongside schoolwork and daily life over months (sometimes years), which can understandably feel pressurised for families.
That's why balance matters. Mindfulness can help children stay calm, focused, and resilient under pressure.
As a qualified mindfulness teacher, I’ve seen how powerful mindfulness can be in helping children manage anxiety, improve concentration, and reframe mistakes as part of learning, all while building confidence and a growth mindset.
