The Kernow Bee

The Kernow Bee Meet the Gullies is a tale of a band of loveable seagulls, collectively known as the Gullies, and the town’s most wanted mischief makers.

These meddlesome misfits steal the show, with their daring deeds and peculiar charm.

Reason to smile 01 August 2026…

“This is currently my son's absolute favorite book! We read it about six times a day currently, not counting all the times he flips through it on his own, and we always know when he's reached the postwoman page because we hear him yelling, "It's post!"

Means so much to receive stories like this, it makes all the hard work and doubt worthwhile to know it has captured the hearts and imaginations of all ages 🐝

Watch out, watch out, there’s a Gullie about!!

He’s alive!! This chubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff has made a full recovery, complete with hunny pot, and will soon be on his way as a surprise for my friends little lad who’s about to become a big brother.

Wasn’t sure I could pull it off, but very happy with the end result…🐝

So... the bear I’m crocheting sustained a bit of a head injury. Don’t worry though, he’s currently in Intensive Bear and is expected to make a full recovery. 🧸

On the bright side, George thought the fluff 'n' stuff escaping everywhere was the best game ever…💛

🍦 **Breaking Scoop!** 🍦

A mischievous Gullie has officially moved into Pendragon’s Fudge, Padstow. Rumour has it the feathered newcomer has been appointed Chief Quality Control Officer, swapping a life of stealing chips on the harbour front for a much sweeter career in ice cream and sprinkles.

Eyewitnesses report the Gullie can now be seen patrolling the counters, inspecting cones, and conducting rigorous ‘taste tests’ on any flavour that catches their eye. Sources close to the bird say it has no regrets about leaving behind a life of chip-related mischief, declaring that, “mint choc chip beats harbour chips every time.”

Management has yet to confirm the appointment, although sprinkles have reportedly been disappearing at an alarming rate…💛

Salty the Seagull has popped with excitement, and the feathers are everywhere!!

How awesome to be involved in such a wonderful event that raised £13,000 and counting for the Fisherman’s Mission. A wonderful day of celebration and remembrance; entertained by local sea shanty groups, and with the finale played out by Fisherman's Friends we were truly spoilt.

The UK’s only national charity working to support fishermen and their families. We see a fishing industry where every person feels supported, valued, and safe.

All Salty the seagulls are made to order, and £10 of every sale will be donated to the Mission.

See you on the 9th May 2027 for the next fundraiser!!

Salty the Seagull awoke with the tide.
dawn spilling gold where the dark used to hide.
Feathers still downy, but spirit grown strong,
he’d listen to harbour folk sing out their song.

“Remember,” cried gulls in a circling choir,
their wings taking flight in the dawn’s quiet fire.
“For those who set out and never returned,
for lanterns still lit and candles still burned.”

Out past the breakers, where the wild waters roam, many once sailed but never came home.
“So fly,” said the wind, “with purpose and grace, and carry remembrance through the sky’s open space.”

As Salty looked down at the harbour below,
at waves that both cradle and quietly know.
He trembled, not fear, but the weight of the call,
to rise for the many, to echo them all.

With one beating heart and a bold, briny cry,
he leapt from the timber and cut through the sky.

Not just for himself did young Salty cry deep,
but for every lost soul the cold waters keep.
And the wind, like a hymn, carried far out to sea,

We remember. we honour. we let you fly free.

Sunday 10th May from 2pm onwards at Padstow Social Club
