🎉 Celebrating a Very Special 70th Birthday at GSL! 🎉

Today, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating a milestone birthday for one of our wonderful team members, Dougie, for his 70th birthday! Not only that, but he has also been part of the GSL family for five fantastic years, contributing warmth, wisdom, and a brilliant work ethic every single day.

In true GSL style, we marked the occasion properly… with cake! 🎂 Homemade by our Managing Director, Tony Rowe, and definitely deserving of a Paul Hollywood handshake. The whole team gathered to share a slice (or two!) and celebrate a colleague who means so much to us.

The ‘Kilimanjaro 2023’ Relay of Challenges is still ongoing !

Teams from Torbay Lifeboat will carry their flag, with our name sewn onto it, across six challenges over the next 12 months, including skydiving, endurance cycling, swimming, rowing, driving, and last of all, their eldest crew (average age 60) climbing to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the world’s largest freestanding mountain. We are so proud of them!

From March 2022, RNLI Torbay crew members embark on a series of six intrepid and fearsome tasks, culminating in the 8 oldest climbing to the summit of Kilimanjaro in February 2023. All to raise money for their local lifeboat station.
