Dave Beckett – Ascona Operations Director, now joins the Executive Board of Directors at the Ascona Group

Child of Wales – 2026 Update.

In a year where many events are facing sponsorship headwinds, the 2026 Ascona Child of Wales awards has done the opposite.

Despite a challenging sponsorship climate across the events sector, headline sponsor Ascona Group returns for 2026 alongside a strong line-up of corporate partners — underlining continued confidence in the awards and their growing national profile.

The Brand-New Heavies will headline this year’s ceremony at the Swansea Building Society Arena on 2 October 2026 and the event is already completely sold out.

Now in its fifth year, the awards continue to grow in scale, impact and national profile with sponsors fully committed and powerful nominations already coming in from across Wales.

At its heart, this event celebrates courage, resilience and extraordinary young people who deserve to be recognised on a national stage. It also raises vital funds for Welsh children’s and youth charities.
