I realised last year that I was going to have to streamline my shop and somehow make more space, after seeing a family come into my shop and pretty much walk out when another large group came in. There was basically no room to move and I saw it as a loss in sales!
So we fitted new shelves right around the shop which has improved our displays no end, I guess we’ll see over the festive period if I can fit two extra people in without it being a problem!
The next task was tidying and redecorating the front of the shop. At first I was going to paint it yellow, then orange but I opted for the beautiful Farrow & Ball green. It reminded me of a village hall or a cherished community space and I hope that we feel like a welcoming safe space to our customers!
We decided to up our game with our branded bags because it didn’t feel right putting beautiful jewellery, or a merino wool scarf in a brown bag! I also love wrapping gifts!
