What a brilliant night, a huge thank you to everyone who came to our event in the George Hotel with M.W. Craven.

This was the second event in the Cumbrian tour for his new book The Killer’s Mark, the 8th book in The Washington Poe series.

A warm night with another fantastic interview from author Chris McDonald with lots of laughs and humour. Chris also signed copies of his books.

After Q&A from the audience Mike signed copies of his books and even some of his limited edition tote bags. On walking back to his car he couldn’t resist a picture with his brief case and Paddington!!

On Thursday evening we were invited by Maulds Meaburn Village Institute to attend their event with the Cumbrian Author Sarah Hall talking about her latest novel Helm.

This event was well supported and after her talk and Q&A from the public Sarah signed copies of her books, if you would like a signed copy of Helm these are now available in the shop.

We’ve had a fantastic day attending the Spellbinding Awards 2026.
Congratulations to Jenny Pearson who won this year’s award with her brilliant book Shrapnel Boys.
The Author Panel after lunch received some great questions from students across Cumbria and the answers from authors Jenny Pearson, Jack MacKay, Manjeet Mann and Patrice Lawrence had the room engaged!
Thank you to Cumbria School Library Service for inviting us and organising this superb event.

Thank you to Ullswater Community College for inviting us to join them this morning at their author event with Patrice Lawrence.
She talked about how she became a writer, the books she’s written and answered some brilliant questions from students.
