Autumn term is about to start and a lot of cooking opportunities start to arise, especialy at forest school with blackberries, cooking apples and other fruits in abundance. Often September also means a new cohort which means everything has to go back to basics. 'Fiery fox learns about fire safety' is a great introduction to using fires and teaching children how to be safe and here is why....

Fire prevention saves lives, but when nature creates the conditions that provide the perfect burning material, a discarded glass bottle, mirrors and reflective metal combined with heat is all it takes. A big shout out to all those brave fire fighters out there battling the worst fires, one after another in the heat, thank you for everything you do x

I always think it's worth investing in flowers so at the end of its flower life you have plenty of seeds to grow next years flowers for your garden for free. And of course spending time in the garden is always good for your mental health😍

Growing things from seeds, trying cuttings for the first time and keeping everything alive over this very dry summer has brought me so much joy. Finding your happy space to escape to when life gets hard is so important to help your mental health. Make sure you find your happy space too.
