A happy little pot! 😍 I absolutely love it! For this piece I scored two depths of rings alternating down the side of the pot, taped the deepest ones, glaze dipped it, and the glaze has beautifully gripped into the grooves of the shallower rings, creating the two tones you see here! Reminds me of a Winnie the Pooh honey pot for some reason 🍯 🐝 ❤️ my husband pretended to be Keith (The Great Pottery Throw Down) when he handled this one 😭😭😭 if you know, you know 🤣

Here is a former-shaped plate made using a crochet placemat imprint and then blue coloured slip painted over the top and scraped back to reveal the intricate design. Clear glaze over the top brings out the depth of colour in the coloured slip 😍 love love love!! This was another one of my creations made at edinburgh ceramics workshop

And here we are! My first tall wheel-thrown vase from edinburgh ceramics workshop glazed! I gifted it to my wonderful husband, with lyrics from our first dance! (Fun fact- we didn’t get our ‘proper’ first dance until a year after our wedding thanks to Covid restrictions at the time!!) There were meant to be MANY more hand written lyrics, but it turns out the sound and sensation of dragging a glaze pencil over bisque fired clay gives me the absolute boke!! So, sorry that it stops with just the one song 🤣

Today’s creations! More fun with coloured slip today! Haven’t seen how my first try at this has turned out yet so at the moment I’m just trusting the process 🤣🫶 these will be bisque fired and then clear glaze fired to make them watertight 🏺

The mid-way process!!! Today was my final session at 😭😭 Clear glaze and other glazes added to certain pieces today, let’s see how they fire! I’ve been told it’ll be a month until I can go and collect all of my creations, and that can’t come quick enough, I’m too excited!!

This is my first try at a full coloured slip decoration! Thanks to Jill at Wold Pottery on Saturdays Potfest at Scone Palace for the inspiration and encouragement, I was excited to try it with these two vases. Looking forward to seeing them fired then glazed! And also hope you enjoy my real-time brain fart trying to remember the word for Apron 🤣🤣 let’s just say it’s been a busy week 🤣🤣
