It’s EDS and HSD awareness month so I wanted to share a little bit about it. I’m Kirsty, the founder of Molke, and I have EDS, or Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
EDS is a connective tissue disorder that affects the whole body. There are 13 recognised subtypes, and many co-occurring conditions. For me personally, as well as EDS I have several other conditions that affect my daily life.
Having EDS means I often work through pain, fatigue, and many other symptoms people can’t see. I’ve had to learn to adapt—whether that’s pacing my day, changing how I work, or accepting support when I need it. For me, my working week can look very different, but it doesn’t make me any less capable. This is why accessibility is more than a keyword, it makes real impact to people’s lives.
For me living with EDS doesn’t stop my drive, ambition or desire to work — it just means achieving things differently.
Awareness matters because understanding and flexibility lead to accessibility.
Please check out Ehlers-Danlos Support UK for more information and support about EDS.
