Well, that was it. After nearly 11 years trading we shut the door. There are still fabrics left, so if you need something get in touch; I will probably hold a village sale in the early spring so if you need a fix keep your eyes on the page.
Thanks to everyone who supplied us with cake, chocolates, cards and good wishes - it is all very much appreciated. It is clear that we are leaving a peacock and tortoise shaped hole...
But the stars of the last few weeks have been Zoe, Diane, Sam and Sue, who all came in to support me in what was a sad and fraught time and did so much work to make it all easier. From the bottom of my heart: thank you!

There are still fabrics and haberdashery left. It is a little sad to see our lovely shop growing emptier and emptier by the day... Zoe has done an incredible job to keep as many things as possible out of landfill so it all looks very different from normal. But pop in, say goodbye and buy the last of the fabrics: Saturday is our last trading day!

As it is, we have a lot of doll-making stuff still for sale. This used to come in bulk-packs of 100 so sales trickled slowly and there are hundreds of eyes, noses, squeakers and joints. All half price. Come in and browse! Eyes will not be sold by post - come and see for yourself. Bulk offers welcome! And as the tapestry wool still available is in shades of brown, you can pick up some hair as well for 20p per skein.

Thank you all for your chocolates, flowers, cards but most of all for your kind words. So many lovely memories of the classes - The Peacock and the Tortoise has had a positive impact on many lives! Today Jackie messaged me with a photo: she did our crochet class as an absolute beginner: and look at this: a Jane Crowfoot Crochet along pattern. Absolutely stunning!
