New brushes!

We’ve got some new plastic-free brushes in the shop – including our dish brushes with replaceable heads and a new brush especially for non-stick pans, tough on the washing up but gentle on delicate coatings.

All made from natural, plant-based materials and a great alternative to plastic brushes that can shed tiny plastic bristles down the drain. 💚🧺

🥛 Bassingthorpe milk is back tomorrow!

The milk is fresh pasteurised but not standardised or homogenised, you get that lovely layer of cream rising to the top — just shake the bottle to mix it back in.

Available in reusable glass bottles, so don’t forget to bring your empties back for reuse!

Liquid refills are one of the easiest ways to start your refill journey. Most of us already have empty bottles at home, so simply give them a rinse and bring them along.

The Cash Box is King!

We happily take both cash and card, but if you have the choice, we’d always prefer cash. As a small business, every card transaction comes with fees, so paying by cash helps more of your money stay with us.

Our cash box was made by W.R. Bunten in 1933 (see the small inscription on the lid!) and thanks to a few small repairs from the Men’s Shed, we’re hoping to keep it going all the way to its 100th birthday 🔧🔨

Card payments are welcome for purchases over £1. If possible, we’d also ask you to avoid using American Express, as the fees are significantly higher than other cards.

You can bring your own bottle and refill exactly the amount you need, or if you’re just discovering it, we also stock their beautiful 500ml bottles, with their fab artwork.

It’s one of those products where you can really taste the difference – fresh, peppery and full of flavour. Once you’ve tried it, ordinary supermarket olive oil is hard to go back to.
