The Weaving Magpie

The Weaving Magpie I'm a crafter in Lincolnshire, originally from Wales inspired by nature to make shiny things! When the weather allows I will take my work outside to work on.

I love to create beautiful things inspired by nature and the world around us whether that inspiration is from colours, patterns or even smells. Crafting things by hand mindfully and with care is for many including myself, a form of meditation. I can think about the things that inspired me to design or create this particular piece as I work on it. This is when I am truly at my happiest. It is no se

cret that connecting with the natural world is beneficial to our wellbeing and never has it been more needed than in these difficult times. I hope that some of my love of nature passes into my work and brings some joy. Another subject which is important to me and shows through in my work is the importance of mental good health for all through acceptance of our differences. Be kind to each other. I support diversity in all its beautiful forms because we are all part of this rich tapestry of nature too. If you see something that you like please drop me a message, i'd be happy to create something for you and don't charge extra if I already make something similar but in different colours for example.

I'm back on the loom! As I moved the first few cords back and forth I had a little cry. It has been so long, and there were times I didn't know if I'd ever be back.
I had shoulder surgery 6 weeks ago and for the first time since before Christmas I can move with almost no pain. Hopefully I can get back to craft fairs soon, then try again to launch my silversmithing. I invested so much time and money into it, and I miss it so much!

I've been absent from all my usual events for all of 2026 so far. I do hope to see you all soon but things are uncertain for me right now. Since late last year I've slowly lost a lot of use of my dominant arm and been in terrible pain. I'm going through surgical procedures recently to try to regain use but to very little end. Now I'm looking at full surgery on my shoulder and even longer recovery. I don't know when I'll see you again, I hope I will someday.
Love you all xx
