I don’t feature many happy customers but this one amused me!!

My customers order came in less than 48 hours today. Amusingly the book was about time and the invoice was dated next week!!

We lost an icon yesterday in Dolly.

But did you know we lost a reading icon?

Dolly ran the Imagination Library, a free book gifting program that sent high-quality, age-appropriate books to children from birth until age five.

This is something I try and do with my book business too but on a much smaller scale. I have donated hundreds of books to local schools and charities in Peterborough over the last nine years. It's as much needed now as it was back in 2017 when I started it.

I like to read how Dolly was affected by her dad with this mission - as I was too. My dad was an avid reader and he helped install that love in me and I knew I had to pass that on to whoever I could. When he died, I donated all his books (he had a vast collection) to the local library and I smile when I think of them being read countless of times since.

Thanks Dolly, you shall be missed but I imagine your library legacy will live on.

The younger Marianne would have loved this new Usborne book for the summer holidays! Just under 100 pages of things to draw, colour and design. It would have kept me busy for hours. I may get one now to help me be creative again.
