The latest tactic to stop us from shooting is to combine section 1 (fi****ms) and section 2 (shotguns) licences. In simple terms, putting shotguns onto section 1 firearm licences.
This would have huge implications for shotgun users. No more borrowing a shotgun at the clay ground. Being limited to how many cartridges you can buy and having to install cabinets to store your cartridges in the same way as centrefire ammo.
This would have huge implications for section 1 users too. They can't keep up with licence processing now. Think of the delays if all the shotgun users were added to the backlog. Renewals and variations would just grind to a halt.

Keep section 1 firearm & section 2 shotgun licensing separate. I think this would help to protect law-abiding owners, the shooting industry, & rural communities. Policies should focus on real public safety issues without burdening responsible citizens or damaging heritage & livelihoods.
