🌷 THE BULBS ARE HERE! 🌸🌼

Spring 2027 bulbs have arrived… and judging by today’s weather, they clearly brought the rain with them. 😂🌧️
Honestly, we’re not complaining. If you’ve been putting off your autumn garden jobs, this is your sign. The rain has done the hard work softening the soil for you! 💁‍♀️🪏

Future you will thank you when the garden is full of colour next spring. 😉
If you start planting now, you’ll see these flowers in full bloom by spring 2027:
🌼 Daffodils
🌷 Tulips
🌸 Crocuses
🪻 Hyacinths

💡 Quick bulb tip: Plant them around 2–3 times the depth of the bulb, with the pointy end facing upwards. Give them a little room too, so they can settle in and multiply naturally.

And can we talk about John’s display?! 👀 He might have outdone himself this time… swipe to see the transformation 24 hours later! 🤭

Liam’s kitchen garden update 🪏🪴

We now have strawberries!
Despite it being way past strawberry season, our strawberries in our kitchen garden are starting to come through! Proof that anything is possible 😉

You can now see a little bundle of chillies growing on our plant (the ones that look like green bell peppers). Hopefully we will see them come to complete fruition to start making yummy dishes in our cafe kitchen 😋

Our carrots and lettuce are still the stars of our garden with them growing noticeably bigger and bigger everyday!

We know the hot weather has made it hard on our crops, but with a little love and a lot of water, we are seeing massive results!! Well done Liam!

Terrariums blend history, science and art all in an elegant glass vessel, whilst serving as a beautiful home centrepiece.
I love how terrariums can be so stunning to look at, but really what goes on inside is the most interesting - combing function with beauty, whilst bringing in a tiny slice of the natural world into our homes.

But…

💡Did you know💡

Terrariums were invented by accident in 1829 by Dr Nathaniel Bagshaw Ward when he placed a moth chrysalis into a glass bottle for observation, creating the perfect climate for fern spores to germinate.
Learning this, terrariums quickly became popular and revolutionised botany and plant transportation, allowing exotic species to be shipped around the world without losing their vitality 🌍🌵

Why not create your own?
We are holding Terrarium & Candle workshops where you can produce your own open terrarium and handcraft a candle to create a beautiful centrepiece.

Choose from a handful of succulents and a variety of fragrances to personalise your own terrarium and candle centrepiece.

Perfect for beginners and plant enthusiasts alike, offering an easy, mindful way to bring history, science and art into your home.

A little heads up for the next two days… 🌞

Our store is now qualifying as a summer holiday destination! 🌴☀️
With temperatures set to soar above 30°C, we’ll be closing a little earlier for the next two days so our team can cool down before they become part of the plant area. Our hydrangeas are coping better than we are! 😅🌿

For Wednesday and Thursday:
🌱 Our store closes at 3pm
☕️Our cafe closes at 2pm

If you’re planning a visit, pop in a little earlier than usual. We’ll have plenty of cold drinks, shade, and happy plants waiting for you.

And don’t worry! Our £5 kids lunch offer with any adult lunch meal is still available at our café despite us closing early! It really is a summer special 😉

Until then, we’re off to find whoever has the hosepipe… 💦🥵
