What A week!

We’ve always wanted to do our own milling of logs and that dream came true this week thanks to expert help of Pol Bergius from Black Dog Timber.co.uk !

The Birnam Sycamore branch is now cut into various boards and smaller sections ready for seasoning. We are absolutely astounded at the quality and density of the wood, it really shows the age of this mighty tree.

The plan is to kiln dry some and air dry the rest. Air drying takes a year an inch so 2 & 3 years for the 2’ & 3’ boards. Patience will be required….watch this space!

New wood day!

We're feeling honoured to have received wood from a fallen limb of the Birnam Sycamore, one the last remnants of the historic Birnam Wood.

We've got some very exciting projects in mind for this which will honour its heritage and the incredible (and massive!!) tree it came from 🌳

We’re delighted to introduce something new from Taran Guitars, the Origin Series!

The Origin Series returns to the foundations of our work. Stripped back in form and refined in detail, these guitars pay homage to our earliest models - built with the same uncompromising approach to design, tone, and feel. They are the essence of what makes a Taran.

We wanted to make the first guitar in the series a little bit special. This Meilein in Quilted Maple and Mastergrade Italian Spruce is now available to purchase directly through our
