Join us this weekend at Plymouth Pirates Weekend!

Saturday 10am-3pm
Our all-weather lifeboat will be at the Barbican Landing Stage for you to come aboard and see. A slight change from previous communications due to operational requirements.

Sunday 10am-3pm
Our pop up Plymouth RNLI Shop alongside our Plymouth RNLI Water Safety Team and Fundraising teams will be at Royal William Yard. Pop by and say hello and pick up your lifeboat goodies.

4pm
Our team of volunteer crew members will be participating in the Raft Race at the Barbican Landing Stage.

Thank you the crew of Plymouth RNLI, and Stormy Stan of course, for attending our shop opening this morning. We are now open 7 days a week and our volunteers are ready for another great season!

A special congratulations to our Volunteer Shop Manager Clare who received a well-deserved Excellence in Volunteering Award from our Station Coxswain this morning to recognise all the work she does to keep us running. We couldn’t continue saving lives at sea without the outstanding dedication of people like Clare, her team, and our supporters!

Two of our volunteers, along with the fundraising team, had the opportunity to represent our little shop at the RNLI South West Engagement Volunteer Forum in Exeter on Monday.

This was a very informative event and it was great to look back over everything our volunteers and supporters achieved in 2025 and look forward to the year ahead.

That’s a wrap! A huge thank you to everybody who has visited the shop throughout 2025; we wouldn’t be able to continue saving lives at sea without the support of every one of you.

Our volunteer shop team are now enjoying a well-deserved break and look forward to opening our doors again every Saturday and Sunday from the 11th of January.

After hearing how much Santa loved his trip on Plymouth RNLI’s all-weather Severn class lifeboat ‘Sybil Mullen Glover’ for the Barbican Christmas Light Switch On this year, our cheeky little elf decided to sneak on board to see what all the fuss was about!

Pager Pete took over from the navigator and made Deputy Coxswain, Cameron Hicks, draw a massive Christmas tree in Plymouth Sound! After being found, our volunteer crew came alongside briefly at the Barbican Landing Stage and returned him safely to the shop where he is now helping us pack up after our last day of 2025!

Below you can see just some of the mischief Pager Pete got up to during his time afloat on exercise this morning.

After a busy pre-Christmas Friday in our little shop, Pager Pete offered to help cash up and got stuck in the till! He is free now and no elves were harmed.

There is still time to pop down and get your RNLI Christmas gifts over the weekend, before our volunteers close the shop for 2025 at 15:00 on Sunday 21st for a well-deserved rest. 🎅🎄
