🔥 Alan Hudson finally banked the elusive Banana Common at 21.8lb 🍌🐟 after 20 years of trying, alongside 2 upper doubles on the Pro Spice combo. A special moment shared with daughter Amber ❤️, who’s now determined to join the 20s club! 💪🎣

🔥 Phil Jeeves followed up a tench and a little stocky with a lovely carp 👌🐟, falling to the deadly Pina Colada 🍍 and Mulberry Fizz 🍇 combo.

🔥 Fred Saunders enjoyed a last-minute trip to Burton Springs with great company and good food, banking 4 carp 🐟🐟🐟🐟. Pina Colada 🍍 and Mulberry Fizz 🍇 soaked baits, plus enzyme, oil and plenty of slab liquids, once again did the business! 💪🔥

Why do we need unhooking mats?

Carp are big, powerful fish, but they are surprisingly delicate once out of the water. This is why an unhooking mat isn't just a good idea-it's essential

This is why:

Protection from bruises, split or broken fins and lost scales
Preservation of the slime coat, reducing the risk of infection
Carp are a lot more cooperative on a soft, damp surface
Prevention of burns from hot, dry or even rough ground.
Protects the fish from knocks and bangs if they are still a little lively

Most lakes now require them before you even get on the bank-and rightly so.

It's all about keeping them safe and prolonging the life of our much loved quarry.

📸 MILEMEAD CATCH REPORT 📸

Despite facing some truly brutal conditions🌧️💨 at Milemead Lakes and Tackle , Paul Stewart and Johnny Hohlweg both enjoyed some excellent action.

Johnny managed to land 6 fish, with the best weighing 27lb 12oz a very recognisable character . All of his captures came using his trusted approach: Pro fish🐟 Feed bait heavily coated in Super G Pro Oil🧄 and matching SLAB liquid with a pro fish🐟 hook bait.

Paul also enjoyed success, banking 4 fish during the session. One of his fish was landed at 1am during a howling tempest, so unfortunately there was no opportunity for a photo. His biggest carp weighed just under 25lb. All of Paul's fish fell to a bed of Pro fish🐟 boilies and sweetcorn🌽, fished alongside a matching Pro fish🐟 popup topped with a Pina Colada🍹 Corn🌽 Topper.

A fantastic result for both anglers, especially considering the challenging weather conditions.

Jason Fern headed to his private water recently to give himself a bait boat refresher ahead of his upcoming France trip. The mission was a success, with an action-packed session producing six carp to 15lb 12oz. Nothing huge, but great sport and plenty of confidence gained before the big trip.

He started by introducing the last of his h**p and maize🌽 onto all three spots, followed by Mulberry Fizz 🍇in both whole and crushed form. He also wrapped his leads in some of Mat's excellent paste, which proved very effective.

Five of the six carp fell to the Zinger Pop-Up hook bait🟡, with the remaining fish taking the Devon Cream Tea Hard Hooker🔴.

A thoroughly enjoyable day on the bank, with plenty of bites and the main objective achieved!

📸🎣 CATCH REPORT 🎣📸

Team member John Goldsmith was out fishing last week and noticed the fish cruising on the surface enjoying the sunshine ☀️🐟. So, John decided to dust off his Richard Walker Mk4 split cane rod and centrepin reel for a bit of classic surface fishing 🎣👌.

After carefully whittling down a ProFish pop-up to resemble a biscuit 🍪, he tempted a few smaller fish before connecting with this absolute beauty! 😍💪

The result was this stunning 34lb 8oz common carp, known as Black Spot 🐟⚫️🔥

What an incredible capture and a great example of traditional tackle doing the business! 👏🎣
