Last week somebody we know complained (yet again!) about us, and an alleged conflict of interest between us and the BBKA - The British Beekeepers Association and the Plymouth Branch - Devon Beekeepersโ Association and the Charity Commision ๐ด
So, here's Mr BD with some of new beekeepers from the course of 2026, having attended 24 teaching sessions through the year ๐๐๐
The week before, we had to deal with trading standards for a complaint about our Hot Honey being called Hot Honey ๐ฏ ๐ด
The week before that, something else, and this coming week will probably bring something else๐
You know the type... block you but follow you! ๐
This picture will probably upset them again, but as we trade as a business, The British Beekeepers Association, The Devon Beekeepers Association, nor the Plymouth Branch of Devon, serve no benefit ๐๐ผ the business, and to be accurate, all of the above benefit ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ us!
Incidently, Mr BD is a trustee of Devon, and sits on the Executive Committee, and any conflict that would arise is declared and minuted ๐
He also does a lot of other things, but that doesn't need to be posted for likes or boasted about.
However, this post is not about the little people who try to disrupt our business at every opportunity, it's about the new beekeepers of Plymouth, and a celebration of those who took part in teaching, mentoring, supporting, and being a part of the 2026 course ๐
There are around 300 beekeepers in and around Plymouth and over 100 of them are members of the Plymouth Branch of the Devon/British Beekeepers Association, so there will be a member near you that we can put you in touch with ๐
