I've been playing on the website, we now have an events page, plus a cars and coffee gallery page, and I'll keep adding and adjusting it to make it more friendly, this is just another way for non Facebook users to find the event via Google, and yes it appears on Google 😁 It also means I can add more details about future events.
The event will remain free, so even though the website says purchase tickets there is absolutely no need to, I won't be scanning any if you did.. 🤣

There is also a Facebook event page which can be found on both my page and The Hideaway Cafe at Faraday Mill page under 'more', and this will be shared again to multiple pages so you may see more than 3 times.. 🤣

After my training days I found out a few things about the new EV BMW M3 this one will be producing around 700 - 1000bhp with a motor for each wheel with BMW's torque vectoring (similar to the 1200ps schaeffler rs3 of 8 years ago - youtube it) and potentially fans for added downforce.
This EV version of the M3 is direct competition to the petrol version running a 3.0 straight 6.
So I thought I'd go into the fan downforce, started in the 70s chaparral prototyped a version, brabham tried it, with the idea being that the fan sucks the car to the road, for ages we've been using traditional wings/spoilers/ride height to force air not just over the car but upwards pushing the car lower increasing mechanical grip (cornering speed) however this only started working at speeds around 50mph.

Then along came the super/hyper cars with them came the diffuser a flat bottom with an angled rear underside as road cars require a higher ride height, the diffuser works by creating negative pressure through the venturi effect sucking the car to the road without the need for wings/spoilers, these work at speeds as low as 30mph, the ferrari 812 superfast has an active diffuser where vents open at higher speeds reducing the negative pressure and allowing a higher top speed, you may also notice the 812 has no rear wing, where as the pagani huayra has active aero - the front and rear wings adjust to cornering, acceleration and braking working with the diffuser.

Then there's the Gordon Murray T50 and mcmurtry spéirling with fan assisted downforce allowing extreme downforce even at 0mph, the mcmurtry produces 2 ton of downforce at 0mph which helped make it the fastest car up the goodwood hill, fan designs have moved on since the 70s and now produce more airflow through smaller and quieter fans. And apparently the new EV M3 has been seen driving up a vertical wall, stopping and then reversing back down, if this is true it'll make it's track ability very very appealing with its 4 motor setup, I'm very interested in seeing it, possibly the only EV I'm actually interested in.

Our next cars and coffee will be the last one this year, give you some time over the autumn/winter to start/finish those projects you've been planning, gives us chance to sort out the dates for next year.
We also have Karl Renouf bringing 'poppy' along for a few hours, and she's a biggy.. Due to her size please keep to the 10am start time so we can get 'poppy' positioned. 👍🏼

That's the training thing done, learnt some cool stuff on what the next level of lighting is on the BMW's, such as identifying people, animals and other cars and adjusting the light for example spotlighting pedestrians and animals without dazzling oncoming drivers by switching off certain led, zero coding of radars/cameras/light units, we will be able to just fit them, tell the system through the infotainment that new parts have been fitted and during a test drive they will self calibrate.
Repairing and painting bumpers with radars, or rather not repairing the bumpers where the radars are as this has a massive effect on the accuracy, and only being able to paint the bumper 3 times, any more and it's a new bumper.. And got a list of specific colours that can be painted. 😲😣
Also found out that potentially the new EV M3 will have fans to aid downforce, similar to the mcmurtry spéirling, Gordon Murray T50 and the old 1970s brabham, don't worry I think they're still making a petrol M3.
My evening was taken up by visiting a retro arcade, spent just over an hour playing outrun, Sega rally, Sega Nascar, dirt rally on a full Sim rig, as well as some shooters, it was that empty that the few people in there had a lock in.. 🤣

Well we're open today 10am - 4pm.

But will be closed during the week, I'll be in Doncaster until late Wednesday, I'll be driving through the eclipse.
Being blazing sunshine ☀️ today we're not expecting many people to pop in, so we're nerding out on the X-men films, due to Jean Grey (dark phoenix) being in spiderman a brand new day as a teenager, if you want to watch them in story order here's the list.

1 - X-men 1st class, this is the origin story set in 1962
2 - X-men days of future past, this one is a time jumper going from the future to the past, the bulk of the story is set in 1973 and you meet Peter maximoff (quicksilver) - wanda maximoff his sister is the scarlett witch and they're the guessed children of magneto (Eric Lehnser).
This film is where the time line splits creating 2 lines between the original films and the newer films.
3 - X-men origins - wolverine, set in the '80s and focuses on probably the oldest mutant, wolverine.
4 - X-men apocalypse, this is an altered time line film set in' 83 and you meet Scott (cyclops) and his struggles with his uncontrollable laser eyes as a teenager, and the first time Jean Grey appears in the X-men.
5 - X-men dark phoenix, set in '92 and focuses on Jean Grey (dark phoenix) and her mighty powers corrupting her.
6 - X-men, the first movie of 2000 and set roughly around 2000 with rogue, wolverine, ice man, Pyro, storm, cyclops and others, with Jean Grey somewhat controlling her powers.
7 - X2 (X-men 2) based shortly after X-men and a continuation of the last film, and a short n-sync in Scott's RX8, the song then features in deadpool & wolverine.
8 - X-men the last stand.. Again based around Jean Grey and her powers now taking a real evil turn.. And most people thought the X-men films were about wolverine.
9 - the wolverine..

After this you can move onto the deadpool films.
