Chris Quick Guitar Services Hello and welcome to my page. My name is Chris and I am a guitarist based in Plymouth Devon. I have years of experience recording and setting up for studios.

I offer a wide range of services from guitar repairs, maintenance and set ups, guitar tuition and I am available for session work in studios and at gigs for singers/writers and other musicians. I started playing on 1995 and joined my first band in 1998 and played regularly in bands up until 2008. During this time I played everything from 2 people in dingy urine soaked pubs to festivals. I have a gained a lot of experience and knowledge gigging extensively around the South West, setting up for live gigs on my own and working with sound engineers. I have done everything from recording with 8 track recorders to cassette to working in local professional studios, recording in studios in London and recording an EP in the world famous Sawmills Studio. Please feel free to drop me a message if you need a session guitarist for any studio work or live gigs. As a musician I understand that your guitar is your pride and joy and want it to be perfect. I handle all instruments with the utmost care and respect and will repair and maintain it to the finest of detail. From box to bench a brand new Epiphone inspired by Gibson Firebird, and it's a stunner. It's in for a set up, i will do a post soon about the importance of a professional setup whether it's a beginner guitar or a 3 grand pant twitcher.

This one came with a typical factory set up. The neck was like a banana, the action so high you could limbo underneath, a few uneven frets and fret board dryer than a nuns... well it was dry.

This one had a really stiff truss rod and was quite difficult to set to the correct relief, but after much swearing it got there in the end. Some of the frets weren't seated correctly so just needed a tap into place, 2 needed a spot level but I forgot to film that! Fret board was oiled for hydration, action set to the players preferred height and intonated correctly. Thankfully the nut was already cut to the perfect height. This thing now sings like a Plymouth girl on the Navy base.
