From box to bench a brand new Epiphone inspired by Gibson Firebird, and it's a stunner. It's in for a set up, i will do a post soon about the importance of a professional setup whether it's a beginner guitar or a 3 grand pant twitcher.
This one came with a typical factory set up. The neck was like a banana, the action so high you could limbo underneath, a few uneven frets and fret board dryer than a nuns... well it was dry.
This one had a really stiff truss rod and was quite difficult to set to the correct relief, but after much swearing it got there in the end. Some of the frets weren't seated correctly so just needed a tap into place, 2 needed a spot level but I forgot to film that! Fret board was oiled for hydration, action set to the players preferred height and intonated correctly. Thankfully the nut was already cut to the perfect height. This thing now sings like a Plymouth girl on the Navy base.
