•October in Pontefract Market Place 🍂•

Our town has been a market town since the 12th Century - over 800 years of stalls, shops and stories right here. The Old Town Hall (1785) and the Buttercross still watching over it all.

Market days are still Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Delighted to see my painting of Pontefract Market Place featured as the October image in the 2026 calendar!

This is what I do - I paint houses, homes and favourite places that mean something to you. Whether it's your family home, a first house, a business premises or a Pontefract landmark you love, I can create a hand-painted portrait to keep forever.

My 2025 / 2026 calendars and prints are available soon and I'm taking commissions for Christmas.

September image of the Pontefract calendar
The view of the Keep rises up in the back ground. Taken by standing near the ovens at Pontefract Castle. ( I thought it was warm). Our castle was the stronghold of the North!
Enjoy tours of the castle and dungeons.

July is the month on your calendar showing a delicate watercolour of Pontefract Museum boasting decorative tiles to the interior. The herringbone parquet flooring and mosaic tiles are a must see. This 1904 listed building, showcases art nouveau through the building details. Pop in and see the museum rooms.
