Craft room rearranged again to fit my new kiln. I still can’t quite believe that after many months of indecision I just came home from the pottery fair with it! It was exciting and a little scary bringing a kiln home that is so much bigger than the one I already had. It is still a small kiln compared to many others but huge to me haha. Anyway I’m getting used to it now and am well on with my test tiles so hopefully back to creating soon 😊

I’ve spend most of my time experimenting and re-arranging my craft room over the last couple of weeks. I’m still not there with the memorial pieces that I’ve been asked about yet but feel like I’m getting close using bonemeal as a substitute for cremains. A very small amount between two pieces of sheet glass if applied very thin works but I am still getting some coming to the surface when casting the small teardrops. I’m going to try an extra firing with clear top added in two stages for these and plan to start testing with my robins and hearts too. Will update again when I’ve made a bit more progress ❤️

Two custom made trinket dishes finished this week, loving the colours 🙂. Made with modelling glass, glass powders and sheet glass. They take a while to make as I can only fit one at a time in my little kiln and each one has to be fired 3 times. Worth it though 😊
