We’ve been speaking this week to Puffa Jones from Free Bikes for Kids about dropping off some used—but perfectly good—bikes and parts to support his project.

Puffa’s goal is to get FREE recycled bikes to deserving kids in need... because every child should own a bike!

Hopefully, we can inspire more kids to join our cycling clubs and participate in the greatest sport on earth: Cyclocross!

Since we’re in Newport tomorrow for the race, it would be rude not to say hi and visit his “shedquarters!” We’re dropping by with a Trek Marlin, saddles, handlebars, and grips.

Do you have anything you can donate to Free Bikes for Kids in the future?

It’s been about 10 years since I last watched IRONMAN Wales, but being back reminded me why this race is so special. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Following my mate Nino’s journey—tracking his prep on WhatsApp and Strava—added a whole new layer of excitement and nerves. You forget how much goes into it: the logistics, the kit, and wrapping your head around a course that is anything but standard.
IRONMAN Wales isn't a flat course—it’s a true beast.

We’re so fortunate to have a race like this here. What it’s done for Welsh sport is incredible—the growth of triathlon clubs in South Wales is just bonkers! We really shouldn't take our local club community for granted.

A few thoughts from an epic day in Tenby:

Our Incredible Customers: A massive congrats to all our customers who completed the race, and to those who gave it everything and attempted it, regardless of the outcome. Putting yourself on that start line takes serious guts—you’ve done incredible!

The Weather: Classic greasy, wet Welsh weather after a warm summer of training. Massive respect to everyone battling those slick roads.

The Atmosphere: The sea of swim caps charging into the ocean with the music booming gives you proper goosebumps.

The Community & Support: Catching up with friends, spotting local jerseys, and trying to make runners laugh when they needed it most. Support isn't just standing on the sideline—it’s keeping an athlete calm so they can have their best day.

Standing at the finish line was wildly inspiring. Does it make me want to tackle it again? 100%.
Fair play to all the athletes, clubs, supporters, and volunteers! 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

From Porthcawl to Penarth: 41.29 Miles, 7,372ft, 10hrs 53mins. 💥

Decided to change things up this year and take on the VOGUM ultra marathon with James. More importantly, we raised money for a fantastic charity whose incredible work in Llanishen I’ve seen firsthand. Thank you to everyone who donated to the justgiving page 👊

It had the awesome grit-and-endurance vibe of an old-school Welsh MTB event. Massive respect to the solo runners, because the bad weather definitely made it feel bleak at times! But you learn something from every event and immediately start planning the next.

Speaking of next:
1️⃣ Saundersfoot Tri in September (my first in 14 years! 🙈)
2️⃣ Sunday, June 14th: The last shop gravel ride of my 30s! (Route TBC)
..Which leaves just one question: Will I get a new bike for my 40th? What shall I get?🙏🚲
