In-store tomorrow, Saturday 30th May.

Hello everyone, we hope you have all been enjoying the recent sunshine and having a good week. Who can believe the weekend is almost here? Tomorrow promises to be a slightly cooler but still dry day, so we are planning to take advantage of this before the weather changes.

Tomorrow we will have a range of items outside the shop, this will include our rail of bargain clothing. There will also be a 50p rummage basket of reduced Gift-In-Kind stock. But that's not all!

The Table of Treasure will be back outside full of assorted items at great prices, will you find your next great purchase on it?

Finally we will also be squeezing in a large tub of art work and picture frames, starting at just 50p. It is well worth a look if you are passing by.

The action doesn't stop outside the store though! Inside we will have our pop up stall of Viking themed jewellery and gifts (likely available 10-3).

It's the last two days of the half price sale on dresses and 20p childrens clothing. Plus today we have had a top up delivery of Gift-In-Kind items so there are some great new items to be found.

We will be accepting donations all weekend and would love it if you considered donating to us 😀

Volunteers needed to help out in-store at Barnardo's Pontypridd.

Do you have some spare time in your week? Would you like to help out in your local charity shop, raising money to help support children and young people?

We are currently looking for volunteers across the week and across departments. Whether you help out by covering the tills at lunch time, by processing stock one afternoon or helping to merchandise in-store it is all appreciated and helps make a big difference.

Book lover? We are interested in hearing from someone who can help manage our media department, rotating stock and keeping the section topped up.

Great customer service skills? Or want to learn? Then we are looking for people to help out on the till, serving customers and putting out stock. No experience necessary, full training and support will be given.

Behind the scenes support? We are looking for people to help process the donations and keep the store well stocked.

Cleaning a passion? We would love a volunteer cleaner to help keep the store and back areas clean.

Experienced running events or social media? We are interested in hearing from anyone who can support the existing team with making content plus organising and running events.

Visual merchandising or arts interest? We'd love someone who can make amazing window and in-store displays.

Half term clear out? We'd love to accept your donations at Barnardo's Pontypridd.

The stock room downstairs continues to look empty as the heat has kept people away. Looking at our storage bays we have plenty of clothing to process but not much else ☹️

We are currently asking for donations to help us restock the shop, including bric-a-brac, toys and games, books, DVDs, linen, small electricals and much more. We understand times are tough and a lot more people are selling unwanted items online instead of donating. Therefore if you aren't able to help we totally understand. If however you can spare some bags of unwanted items we would really appreciate it.

When you make us part of your declutter you also help us raise much needed funds to support children, young people and their families.

What we accept:
✅ Good condition clothes, shoes and accessories.
✅ Jewellery, including watches.
✅ Books, CDs, Vinyl, DVDs and video games.
✅ Technology Including mobile phones, laptops, tablets, and camera equipment.
✅ Homewares and bric-a-brac.
✅ Toys and Games (if complete and in good condition).
✅ Small electricals (MUST be in working order).
✅ Antique and collectable items.

What we don't accept
❎ Damaged or faulty items.
❎ Car seats and booster seats.
❎ Mattresses including cot mattresses.
❎ Soft furnishings without fire safety labels.
❎ Pillows and duvets (unless brand new in packaging).
❎ White Goods such as washing machines or fridge freezers .
❎ Electric blankets and heaters.
❎ Some small electricals such as microwaves, food processors and coffee grinders .
❎ Baby bouncers.
❎ Broken/non-working electricals.

If you are unsure if any items are accepted please drop us a message or pop in-store to see us. We try to accept as many items as possible but unfortunately do need to refuse some donations due to safety or hygiene reasons. It is also important to please only donate items in good condition that can be resold as damaged or faulty items often cost us to dispose of.

We really appreciate all our supporters and love sorting through your pre-loved treasures as we never know what we'll find next.

Just a reminder our lucky dip in aid of the Pontypridd Foodbank is available throughout the holidays. Try your luck for a £1.00 or bring in a tin and swop for a prize. Every pound goes straight into the collection box. Also there is a market collection point for food donations opposite Hulaballoo - vintage inspired & rockabilly clothing. There are also collection boxes if you have any change to spare at Tucker's Bakery or the Watch Stop

Do you remember as a child playing the game "The Floor is Lava"?

Well we may have just realised it wasn't just a game but intensive training for the recent weather in Pontypridd!

If you are out and about in the sunshine then please remember to keep hydrated, wear your sunscreen and don't let children or pets walk barefoot on the hot surfaces.

Whilst we are chatting we'd also like to remind everybody that we are still looking for new volunteers to join our team. We also are continuing to appeal for donations to help keep the store well stocked. Please check out our recent posts for more information.

Scorchio! At least that's what we believe Channel 9 News calls it 😎🔥🌞

With the weather still hot and dry we have the perfect range of "New Goods" toys for the children to play outdoors, plus a great selection of smaller toys for keeping busy in the shade or indoors.

We also have a selection of pre-loved toys and games to keep the little ones occupied this half term.

Childrens clothing is just 20p an item all this week, helping you to clothe your growing family at rock bottom prices. This offer excludes footwear and "New Goods".

Don't forget that dresses are half price all week, so you can style up your wardrobe ready for a summer of sunshine.

Knitwear and jumpers are just 50p this week, so whilst we wouldn't suggest wearing one today it does mean all you early bird shoppers can grab them now ready for the cooler evenings.

Half price dresses!

Just a reminder that we have extended our promotion on dresses until Sunday 31st May, allowing you to refresh your summer style at bargain prices.

We have plenty of choice and lots of other great things for you to browse and buy in-store.

Donations are still wanted to help us refill the store too. We especially are in need of books and media, toys, bric-a-brac and prizes for our tombola.

The first day of our new promotion is now live in-store! We have been kindly donated this stunning range of Viking themed items, including a lot of great jewellery.

Due to the nature of these items they won't be a permanent display, instead these will be sold in a series of one day promotions until the stock runs out. We aim to do at least one day a week, however this will be dependent on volunteer availability.

The range includes:

⭐Bjorn bags - these include a viking figure, a wristband and a keyring. Priced at £10 and strictly limited stock of 4. You can also super size these by adding 2 jewellery items for an extra £5.

⭐Jewellery - a variety of styles, colours and sizing (mainly necklaces) for just £4 each. To make these even better value we also have a multi buy offer of any 3 for £10.

⭐Keyrings are a bargain at £1 each, but two and get the third Free!
