August 5th 1997 the Star Tribune reprints a New York Times feature examining how Prince is using the internet and telephone orders to release new music. The article quotes Londell McMillan, saying that if the business is not built for artists like "the Artist," he is going to make it that way.
"When you limit artists and vi-sionaries, you restrict business growth also. So from a business perspective, this is a new frontier. From an artist perspective, it's very frontier.
From an artist perspective, it's very necessary for his spirituality because he needs it. Not many artists can create such a vast variety in the way that he can. It's conceivable we could do three records a year”.
