When my scribbles actually work… 😂✏️✨

I’ve never been good at drawing. Like, really never been good at drawing. If my old art teacher could see me now 😂

Luckily the amazing silversmiths I work with in Sri Lanka somehow manage to understand what’s going on in my head (and on the page!) and turn my very questionable sketches into actual Koko Jewellery. 🤍

There’s something so lovely about seeing an idea I’ve scribbled down become a real piece of jewellery.

And one of those scribbles became our new adjustable sterling silver flower & leaf ring 🌸🌿

little peek inside my sketchbook… 👀✨

New Koko Jewellery designs are officially in the works!

This is pretty much how every new collection starts — lots of scribbles, measurements and very questionable drawings 😂 I have NEVER been good at drawing… if my old art teacher could see me now!

I’ve got some new necklaces and adjustable rings in the pipeline, plus some new gemstones and charms.

One I’m particularly excited about is milky white quartz with a little lotus flower 🤍🪷 — I think it could be gorgeous.

They’ll all be handmade in Sri Lanka in sterling silver, as always. Now to see if they can turn my drawings into actual jewellery… 😂

A little heads up… 💕

I’ve been putting this off for as long as I possibly could, but unfortunately the time has come.

As many of you know, the cost of pretty much everything has increased over the last few years, and the price of silver has risen significantly too. Silver prices have more than doubled from early 2025 to their recent highs, making it much more expensive to produce sterling silver jewellery.

I really should have done a smaller price increase a while ago, but instead I’ve absorbed as much of the extra cost as I could. Sadly, that’s no longer sustainable.

So, from our next Koko jewellery delivery, prices will be increasing… and by more than I’d ever want. 😭

Our jewellery has always been made from proper 925 sterling silver with genuine gemstones from Sri Lanka, handcrafted by a wonderful small family business we’ve worked with for years. It’s never been mass-produced, and I wouldn’t want to compromise on the quality just to keep prices down.

So if you’ve had your eye on a piece of Koko jewellery, now is the perfect time. ❤️ Pop in and grab it before the new delivery arrives and the new prices come into effect.

When you can’t decide which colour to choose… why not have both? 💙❤️

Claire fell in love with both our Lapis Lazuli and Garnet adjustable Dream Rings, so that’s exactly what she did! Even better, her new garnet ring perfectly matches a garnet ring she already owns. ❤️

I absolutely love helping customers bring their ideas to life. This time it was a thumb ring, two dainty pinky rings, and a Lapis Lazuli ring on the middle finger to pull the whole look together. 💙

The little pinky rings look so cute, and I love how the feather/leaf detail on them ties in perfectly with the matching detail on the thumb rings. It’s those little details that make a stack feel really special. ✨

✨ Give your silver jewellery a little refresh ✨

One of my favourite jewellery cleaning hacks is so simple and uses things you probably already have at home.

All you need:
💙 Bicarbonate of soda
🤍 Tin foil
💙 A plastic container
💦 Hot water

Line your container with tin foil and place your silver jewellery on top. Carefully pour over hot water, then sprinkle in some bicarbonate of soda. Leave it for a few minutes and watch the tarnish disappear!

Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.

One thing I always tell customers is that silver jewellery often tarnishes because it isn’t being worn. The more you wear your silver jewellery, the less likely it is to tarnish. So don’t save it for best – enjoy it every day! ✨
