My 82 year old mother discovered hers was helping himself to electrical conduit and "potentially" other items during the course of his paid duties while working on her flower beds. Promptly arrested and charged for the taking of items without consent, the case was later dismissed in court due to colossal incompetence by the CPS and other factors beyond our control.

All of this came to light when her very understanding neighbour Mr. Mike Warlock alerted her to large amounts of garden waste and discarded personal effects of my motherโs he was instructed to remove, appeared at his boundary walls. Rather amusingly, when Mr Warlock questioned Mr Thomas during a conference call about the bark on his property mother paid Mr Thomas to be stripped from the tree in the picture, He replied โ๐ ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ปโ๐ ๐ต๐ผ๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐ด๐ผ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ, ๐ฏ๐๐ ๐ถ๐ณ ๐ถ๐ ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฑ, ๐ถ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ป๐ผ๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐นโ
Prior to legal action, Mr Thomas was invited by us to โDo the right thingโ and make arrangements to return and collect all of this waste. He declined. ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ฎ ๐๐ฒ๐
๐ ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ ๐๐ผ ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐น๐ฒ๐ด๐ฎ๐น ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐บ๐ ๐บ๐ผ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฏ๐ ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด โ๐๐ผ๐ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ผ๐ป๐น๐ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ปโ๐ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฝ๐๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ!โ He did make a brief appearance and was spotted driving by on camera as Scott waste was filling the lorry with the waste he was contracted to remove.
With Mr Warlock eclipsed by the mountain of waste from gardening and property repairs shown in the images, it would indicate Mr Thomas had been neglecting his paid duties for some time. The bag that contained the dead flowers in the picture from motherโs birthday that she instructed him to dispose of was the final discovery that reduced her to tears.
A subsequent civil case was filed to get a little closure for mother and recover some costs of this all day clean up. (See attached Images). Rather than face her again in court with her solicitors, our solicitorโs letter indicates full liability for the claim as Mr Thomas settled at the 11th hour prior to his attendance. This โmanโ was placed in a position of trust and was considered a family friend for many years. Often left alone in the residence, paid well in cash including many gratuities for his โworkโ. To abuse this position, take advantage of and leave an 82 year old vulnerable pensioner confused by his betrayal, distraught and in tears was a truly despicable and reprehensible act.
