Check out what we have on our warehouse sorting tables this morning…. NEW Bumbu Toys wooden Halloween figures 🎃 👻 and they’re going live on our website at 1pm today!

We’ve been looking forward to getting these little wooden figures out to show you! Pumpkins and ghosts in witches’ hats, with plenty of character and lots of possibilities for play. They’ll look lovely on a celebration ring or amongst your autumn treasures, and there’s no need to pack them away after Halloween. There’s room for a pumpkin or a friendly ghost in their stories and small world play all year round.

You can use them on your celebration ring with or without a holder, as they’ll happily sit there on their own too.

There’s so much happening here at the moment with our new systems and everyone busy with training, and deliveries like this arriving amongst it all! We’re working our way through them and getting things ready for you as we go, so it’s lovely to have these ready for today 🧡

A BIG Lanka Kade restock arrived with us yesterday at Babipur 🎃 Lots more wooden pumpkins, ghosts, bats, and other spooky characters for your autumn play!

We love these chunky wooden figures, with their lovely visible wood grain and so much character. A ghost popping up in the wooden farm, a wizard moving into a block castle… there’s plenty of room for children to make up their own stories. They’re lovely for Halloween small world play and autumn nature tables too.

Lanka Kade’s fair trade wooden toys are made by hand in Sri Lanka using sustainably sourced rubberwood. The people making the toys matter to us here at Babipur, and supporting fair trade is a big part of how we choose what goes on our shelves 🧡

I’ve been sitting next to my youngest daughter Isabelle today, who’s covering customer service!

She’s worked behind the scenes at Babipur and helped pack your orders, but answering the phones and helping with your questions is new to her, and I’ve been so impressed.

She’s had plenty to deal with today, especially with all our systems changing, and it’s been lovely hearing her get stuck in and help people. A proud mum moment ❤️

Thank you to everyone who’s been patient with us during a hectic week. Please be kind to whoever helps you, whether it’s Isabelle or another member of team babipur. We all care about getting things sorted for you, and a friendly conversation makes such a difference to their day.

Scenes from the warehouse today at Babipur Towers… a brilliant Bajo Toys delivery has arrived!

📦 Including the wonderful Sloth, the popular Tractor & Trailer set, and lots more, with some brand new items we’re working on getting onto the website. They should be available soon!

What we love about Bajo is how clever their designs are. There’s often more to them than first meets the eye, with different ways to play as children get older. Something they enjoy doing at one stage can become a completely different game at another, as they discover what else it can do and bring their own ideas to it.

That’s a big part of what makes them heirloom quality toys for us, as well as the beautiful wood and craftsmanship. They’re made to last, and there’s plenty to keep coming back to over years of play. We love working with Bajo and seeing the thought they put into each new design.

A little autumn crafting in between the chaos here at Babipur 🍂

We’re changing over systems at the moment, with lots of training and some very long days, so it’s been lovely to make a little time for this too. Charlotte put together this Toverlux Autumn Silhouette DIY Craft Kit yesterday, and we think she’s done a great job. It’s beautiful, and it’ll be brightening up the Babipur playroom this week 🧡

Before Harriet left, she’d been looking into Martinmas and its lantern traditions. Children make lanterns and walk together after dark, with the light representing warmth and kindness as the seasons change.

You don’t have to celebrate Martinmas to enjoy this little woodland scene, though. We thought it would be lovely for Halloween or Calan Gaeaf here in Wales, or simply to bring out each autumn.

You tear and layer coloured tissue paper to create your picture, then pop it into your Toverlux lamp or window frame to see the colours with the light shining through. Have a watch to see how Charlotte’s turned out!

📚 NEW BABIPUR BOOK CLUB BOOK OF THE WEEK 📚

One for all the little Grimm’s fans! The beautiful Grimm’s Weather Board Book is now 15% off at Babipur for this week 🌦️

This was the very first book created by Grimm’s, in collaboration with German illustrator Sarah Settgast. Across 24 colourful illustrations, Sarah has drawn almost 100 familiar Grimm’s wooden toys and woven them into scenes exploring sunshine, rain, wind, snow, storms, rainbows, and everything associated with the weather.

Little ones will love seeing toys they recognise appearing in the pages, and searching for pieces they have at home. There is so much to spot, name, and talk about together, encouraging observation, storytelling, weather and seasonal vocabulary, colour recognition, and imaginative play. Each weather theme is also written in English and German using Grimm’s wooden letters, introducing capital letters and another language naturally through storytime.

It’s a lovely sturdy board book for small hands, and a gorgeous Christmas or birthday gift for a Grimm’s fan. You could give it alongside a favourite Grimm’s wooden toy, or add it to an existing collection to inspire new stories and play ideas.

Happy Mandala Monday! 🐘🌈

A Babipur mandala for Mandala Monday, although perhaps not quite the traditional kind!

This brilliant Babipur elephant was created by Danielle using a huge collection of wooden toys and loose parts, and comes from the Babipur archives.

It’s the last day for this week’s Babipur Book Club book 📚🍄

We made this cosy little reading nook in the Babipur playroom last week for Children Of The Forest by Elsa Beskow and thought we’d share it today.

We draped the Wonderie Amber Yellow Organic Cotton Play Cloth over our Triclimb Natural Climbing Triangle, then added the Toverlux Magic Lamp with the matching Children Of The Forest - Tree Hide & Seek Squirrels Toadstool silhouette.
Bella Bear by Käthe Kruse has brought her tiny baby elf along for the story, and we’ve also added a Holztiger Unicorn and our exclusive Babipur x Lanka Kade Red Toadstool and Orange Mini Toadstool.

It’s a very Babipur sort of setup, taking a favourite book and finding all the little bits from around our playroom that help bring its world to life.

Thought we’d share a lovely slow Sunday post… although our days have been anything but slow recently😆🙈

Everything at Babipur is moving at such a pace while we get our new picking, packing and stock system installed. It’s going to make everything smoother and easier for our team, but right now it feels as though everything is slightly up in the air while we make the changeover!

Pete and I were in all day yesterday, Pete’s been in this morning, and we’ve been getting trolleys and all sorts ready for some very big deliveries coming our way. Our entire PlanToys Christmas order is finally nearly here, all at once 😅 There will be lots and lots of sorting to do very soon!
So, amid all of that, here’s a little bit of Sunday loveliness. PlanToys Sensory Blocks playing beautifully with the Bajo Mendelsons. I’ve always thought these work so well together, and look at the coloured light coming through them 😍
