📣 Urgent Help Needed – Keep Powhatan Cubs Alive!

👦👧⚜️ From 2nd Portishead Scout Group

This summer, Powhatan Cubs is facing potential closure due to a significant drop in volunteers. Out of six, three are stepping down, one is moving to Scouts, and one supports in a 1:1 capacity. That leaves us with just one adult able to lead sessions — and we simply cannot run a Cub Pack with only one volunteer.

If we don’t find new adult support:
🚫 17 young Cubs will lose their space
🚫 Our Beavers will have no section to move up to
🚫 Grey Owl Cubs (Monday) is already full

We’re reaching out to our Portishead community – we need you.

No Scouting experience? No problem.
✅ Full training (online & in-person)
✅ Shadowing and support
✅ Flexible roles
✅ A great team to join

Whether you can help every week or just occasionally, your time could keep local Scouting open for dozens of children.

What a day at Woodspring Wings Airshow! ☀️✈️
It was scorching out there today, but we powered through and had an amazing time! Great to see so many familiar faces stopping by the Henson’s Hobbies stand – we really appreciate the support.

We’ll be back again tomorrow, so if you’re coming to the show, make sure to pop by and say hello! Loads of hobby goodies on display and plenty to chat about.

These two static display ships hadn’t been touched in decades. We carefully restored them using as much original material as possible to honor her late father's craftsmanship. Her kind words left us speechless.
