I incorporated this display of found objects in my showcase this weekend, all of which I'll turn into jewellery eventually. Nothing will go to waste.

The sad thing is they all came from one short stretch beach (in Kent) and were collected in the space of about 45 minutes. Not surprising when you learn that 8 million pieces of plastic pollution make their way into the ocean every day (OSPAR, 2009, via ). So while they might be displayed in an aesthetically pleasing way here, I don't want people to lose sight of what we are doing to the planet so I've been talking to people this weekend about the impact.
