We did it! 👟🎉

After a month of walking, running and squeezing in a few extra steps wherever we could, the September Step Challenge is officially complete!

There have been lunchtime walks, weekend adventures and plenty of places explored along the way. Together with colleagues from across our wider family of businesses, we clocked up:

👟 18,017,299 steps
🌍 9,009 miles
🎯 300.3% of our original target

Our original challenge was to virtually travel the 3,000 miles from Portsmouth to Koutaya in Guinea. By the end of September, we’d made it there, back home and all the way to Koutaya again!

Congratulations to our top three steppers:

🥇 Mihaela Lefter – 838,638 steps
🥈 Richie Pitt – 813,747 steps
🥉 Dreen Chestnutt – 623,113 steps

And congratulations to Team 7, who took the team title with an average of 365,778 steps per person.

It’s been great to see everyone getting involved and enjoying plenty of friendly competition along the way, all while raising awareness of the brilliant work Education is doing at its school in Koutaya.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, shared their walks and helped us smash the target.

18 million steps and 9,009 miles later… we think we’ve earned a sit down! 😅

🏁 A great day racing!

We swapped the trade counter for the track last weekend, taking 20 of our customers to Thruxton for a day of karting and a bit of friendly competition. 🏎️💨

Alex and Jack got behind the wheel for Circuit Supply too, although neither quite managed to trouble the podium!!

Congratulations to the winners:

🥇 Joel Daley –
🥈 Mark Richardson –
🥉 Ashton Howlett – AH Electrical

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a great day, and especially to Mark Richardson and Scolmore for sponsoring the event.

Same time next year? 🏁

⚡️ tools to succeed 🧰

Delighted to hand over another professional toolkit through the apprentice initiative, this time to Lennox Anderson of Pure Electrical.

The initiative helps young people starting out in the electrical industry by equipping them with quality tools they can put to use every day as they learn their trade and build their experience. 🔧

It’s great to be able to play our part, alongside FEGIME UK and the supply partners who help make the toolkit giveaways possible:

We hope the new kit serves you well, Lennox! ⚡️

A great evening at the SPARK Community Space Ambassador Event!

Tony joined fellow ambassadors and local business leaders for an evening of catching up with familiar faces, making new connections and hearing more about the fantastic work happening at Spark.

It was brilliant to hear about Spark’s recent achievements, their new pillars and the direction they’re heading in as they continue to support people across our local community.

And, of course, we had to get a photo of Tony in front of the Circuit Supply sponsored window! 📸

A brilliant group of people supporting a brilliant Portsmouth charity - we’re very proud to play a small part in it.

👟 However you get them in, every step counts!

Across fields, around the warehouse, pounding the pavements or on the treadmill, everyone has been finding their own way to keep those steps coming for our September Step Challenge.

And all that walking is adding up…

🎉 12,197,237 steps
🌍 6,099 miles
👟 203% of our original target

That’s enough to take us all the way from Portsmouth to Koutaya, Guinea, back to the UK, and start heading towards Koutaya again!

With 9 days still to go, we’ve got our sights set on 300% – 9,000 miles by the end of September.

One final push. Let’s see if we can make it! 👟🌍

👟 We’ve made it to Koutaya!

Our September Step Challenge was inspired by the work of URBOND Child Education in Koutaya, Guinea, and after another incredible week, we’ve now officially covered the distance from Portsmouth to Koutaya.

Next month, a team of URBOND volunteers will make the journey for real, helping with projects at the school including the installation of a new solar power system. Circuit Supply has helped source the solar panels for the project and supplied electrician tool kits for the local team, giving them the equipment they need for the installation and ongoing maintenance of the system. ⚡☀️

Last week, the volunteers got together for a pre-trip BBQ, where they were joined by Guinean Ambassador to the UK, M. Aly Diallo, as Guest of Honour. He thanked URBOND and highlighted the positive impact the charity is having on the lives of children in Guinea. 🇬🇳

It’s this work that gives our challenge its purpose, and makes these latest numbers even more special:

👟 8,126,041 steps
🌍 4,063 miles
🎯 135% of our original target

But we’re not stopping there! Our new target is 300% – all the way back to the UK and then to Koutaya again.

That’s 9,000 miles and around 18 million steps by the end of September. Let’s see if we can do it! 👟🌍

Great to hand over another professional toolkit as part of the FEGIME initiative supporting young apprentices as they develop their skills and careers within the electrical industry.

This time, the recipient is Jake Mitchell of Jon Taylor Electrical Services Limited, who now has a new set of essential tools to support him as he continues his apprenticeship. 🧰

We’re proud to support and an initiative that invests directly in the next generation coming into our industry.

A big thank you also to the supply partners whose support helps make these toolkit giveaways possible:

Best of luck with the apprenticeship, Jake! ⚡️

👟 One week in, and we’ve already made it to Western Sahara!

We’re just one week into our September Step Challenge and the numbers are already pretty incredible.

Together, colleagues from across our wider family of businesses have clocked up:
👟 3,761,811 steps
🌍 1,881 miles
📍 62.7% of the way from Portsmouth to Koutaya, Guinea

Put that distance on the map and we’ve already made it through Spain, across Morocco and into Western Sahara!

There’s plenty of friendly rivalry developing between our 12 teams too, with everyone doing their bit to keep those step counts climbing.

The challenge is inspired by the incredible work of URBOND Child Education in Koutaya, giving us an extra reason to keep those steps coming.

At this rate, simply reaching Koutaya by the end of September might not be ambitious enough…

Amazing work from everyone taking part. Let’s see where another week takes us! 👟🌍
