From afar it's designed to look like a mass of texture and colour, but up close you can spot them. Each with their own unique character and personality.

This piece is called 'The Pangolin Assembly', where these pangolins are grumpy, sleepy, cheerful and worried all together in a mass of scales, claws and attitude.

They may be quiet creatures in the wild, but I felt they deserved SOME artistic presence since honestly, from what they look like, I feel like they're pretty bold design choices on the part of evolution. Keep up the good work, nature.

Part of the sea life collection.

Fish are artistically very generous. Streamlined, forceful, slightly alien - all curve, scale and momentum. You barely have to exaggerate them. Nature has already done a suspiciously good job.

With this one, I wanted to use the paper right to its edges. Push the frame, fill the space, let the colour do its job. I’m increasingly interested in how limits can sharpen an image rather than tame it. Sometimes having less room makes something far more alive.

So this piece is partly a celebration of the strange beauty of sea life, and partly a small argument for creative constraint. Also: a fish with this much graphic confidence really shouldn’t be wasted on subtlety.

Seahorses feel almost invented to me.

Delicate, but armoured. Curved, but structured. Ornamental, but somehow prehistoric.

That’s what I love about drawing them — they already feel sculptural, as if they’re made of rhythm, plates, coils and tension. With this piece I wanted to lean into that feeling and build the image as much around structure and movement as around the animal itself.

It’s part of a larger sea life series, and one of my favourite colour combinations in it so far. The hot red-orange and blue-violet felt right for something that already looks slightly otherworldly.
