💜 A little personal post from behind the scenes at NicolaJaneCreates… 💜
Yesterday I swapped my crafting table for hiking boots and completed the Cancer Research UK Jurassic Coast Big Hike in memory of my beautiful friend Tara who we lost to cancer in December.
One of the strongest women I knew, she pushed herself and achieved some great things with her weight lifting so I told myself I needed to do the same and would set myself a challenge every year, the 1/2 marathon Big Hike being a great place to start……..I underestimated the countless hills, some very questionable terrain, and more than a few moments where I wondered what I’d signed up for! 😅
Crossing the finish line felt like a huge achievement especially with the lack of time to train over the last few weeks due to so many Father’s Day and end of sports season orders!!
But the biggest surprise came this morning when I woke up to discover that our team, Tara’s Unicorns, has now raised an incredible £4,220 plus £977 in Gift Aid for Cancer Research UK. 💜
I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported us, whether through donations, messages of encouragement, or simply following along with our journey.
We’re now so close to our £5,000 fundraising target. If anyone would like to help us get there, however small, I’ll pop the link in the comments.
