The colour you commit to in September is the one you're staring at every day in January.

It's easy to go with the safe option when you're picking a radiator, but a bit of colour can completely change how a room feels, especially once the nights draw in and you're spending more time looking at it than out the window. This deep plum shade is proof that a radiator doesn't have to just blend in.

Take your time with it, it's worth getting right. Colour radiators at radiators4u.co.uk 🎨

The cheapest thing you can put into your heating system, and the part nobody ever photographs.

It's not glamorous, it won't show up in anyone's home tour, but our multipurpose inhibitor & protector might be the single best-value thing you can do for your radiators this year. It stops scale, sludge and corrosion before they even get started, keeps your whole system running efficiently, and works whether you've got steel, cast iron, brass or aluminium radiators. Pour it in once, and it quietly does its job in the background.

If you can't remember the last time you treated your system, that's usually the sign you're due one. Grab yours at radiators4u.co.uk 🔧

🌙 Autumn's way of saying "get the blankets out."

The clocks might not have changed yet, but the nights certainly have, and if your radiators haven't had their first proper workout of the season, they're about to. Most of us end up caving and flicking the heating on within the next couple of weeks, and honestly, there's no shame in it; we're only human 🍂

Whether you're team "hold out as long as possible" or team "heating's been on since the beginning of September," we'd love to know when you cave. Swipe through and drop a 🔥 in the comments if you've already turned yours on.

Most people order the wrong valve, not the wrong radiator.

The valve you need depends on where your pipes come from, so it's worth checking before you buy.

If your pipes come up out of the floor, you want an angled valve. If they have a bottom radiator inlet and a pipe rising from the floor, you want a straight valve. If they're in the corner where the wall meets the floor, you want a corner valve.

You'll also need to choose between manual and thermostatic. Manual is simply on or off. Thermostatic controls the radiator's temperature on its own, so once it's set you don't need to think about it again.

If you're not sure which one you need, send us a photo of your pipework and we'll help you get the right one first time.

🛁 Cold bathroom, warm towel, correct priorities.

There's something about stepping out of the shower to a proper toasty towel that just hits different. It's a small thing, but it makes the whole room feel warmer, even before the heating's properly kicked in for the day. Once you've had a heated towel rail, there's no going back.

Fancy upgrading yours? Heated towel rails at radiators4u.co.uk 🤍

Not sure what size radiator you need? 🔥

Getting the BTU right is one of the most important steps when choosing a radiator. Too little heat and your room could struggle to stay cosy; too much and you may be buying more radiator than you need.

Our latest guide explains how to calculate your BTU requirements and use them to find the right radiator for your space.

Read our latest blog to find out more 👇

Choosing a radiator is about more than finding a design that suits your room. Before considering colour, style or size, you need to know whether it can produce enough heat to keep the space comfortable. This is where the radiator’s BTU output comes in. Calculating your room’s BTU require...

Valves aren't just a functional bit of pipework, they're part of the finish too.

Black, chrome, brushed brass and polished nickel are just some of the options, and this is only one style. There are plenty more shapes and profiles available beyond what's pictured here.

It's a small detail, but it's often the thing that ties a room together.

If you're not sure which finish would suit your space, send us a message, and we'll help you find the right match.

Is your radiator valve head damaged or no longer working properly?

You may not need to replace the complete valve. Sometimes, fitting a new head is all that’s needed to get it working again; a simple fix that can save you time, money and unnecessary disruption.

Happy National Tradesperson Day.

Behind every warm house is someone who fitted it. The plumbers, heating engineers, and installers who turn up, do the job properly, and make sure everything works when they're done.

We make the radiators. It's tradespeople who get them fitted right, and that work doesn't always get the credit it deserves.

So today's a thank you to every tradesperson keeping UK homes warm.

If there's a tradesperson who's done great work for you, tag them below or give them a shoutout in the comments.
