Portsmouth Business Exchange

Portsmouth Business Exchange PBE meetings provide the perfect balance between informal networking & structured business exchange This in turn of course, helps to grow your business.

Portsmouth Business Exchange (PBE) meetings provide the perfect balance between informal networking and structured business exchange, so the meetings are both fun and productive. The Portsmouth Business Exchange was founded by a group of local business owners, who wanted to develop professional working relationships with people they could rely on to enhance the growth of both their own businesses

and that of others. While your competitors are still in bed, you are up, exchanging business and continuing to grow your company. At the Portsmouth Business Exchange you will meet lots of friendly and dynamic business people who are passionate about helping each other grow their companies through quality contacts and recommendations. PBE is designed to be a structured way to meet new people and develop relationships which can benefit your business. As members get to know you, your business and the services you offer, members can begin to refer and recommend your business to their friends, family, work colleagues and other contacts. As a member, you will then also be able to exchange and recommend the services of other members, helping their businesses to grow as well. It is this mutually beneficial business networking relationship, which ensures the continued success of our group.

Joy is launching something a little different, and we think it's brilliant. She's making and selling custom 5cm x 5cm magnets, printed fresh from her own press, perfect for businesses wanting branded merch, artists selling mini printed artworks, or photographers turning their shots into something people can actually stick on their fridge.

What makes these extra special is the back. Each magnet has 4 edges where you can add a single line of text to each one, perfect for your brand name, website, a motto, or something personal like a product name or SKU. It's a thoughtful little touch that turns a fun magnet into a proper branded product.

The quality speaks for itself (just look at that photo!) and Joy is currently offering an exclusive trial for PBE members. Send her up to 6 different designs as square files and get 6 magnets made for FREE, you just cover ยฃ4 for shipping. It's a no-brainer if you've ever wanted to turn your logo, artwork, or photography into something tangible and giftable.

Something special is coming to Portsmouth this September and we cannot wait to share it with you.

Faces & Places of Pompey is a centenary photography exhibition celebrating the city we love, its unsung heroes, its iconic places, and the stories that make Pompey great, all through the beautiful photography of the talented Penny Plimmer.

Right now the PBE team, Mandy, Penny, and Charlie, are out and about across Portsmouth capturing the people and places that make this city what it is. The results so far are absolutely stunning.

All proceeds from the exhibition go directly to Connor's Toy Library, supporting Portsmouth families right here in our community.

We are so excited to bring this to life and we would love for you to be part of it.

What a week for Portsmouth Business Exchange!

Before the Easter weekend kicked in, PBE packed in a brilliant morning at Spark Community Space with April's Speaker Spotlight.

Maisie Durrant MCIAT, Chartered Architectural Technologist and founder of DU. Architecture, took to the floor for her very first presentation and absolutely nailed it. From the technical reality of turning dream homes into liveable spaces, to her ongoing volunteering at Waterlooville Food Bank, Maisie is the kind of person who makes a room sit up and pay attention.

We also welcomed some fantastic new faces to the community, including Louise O'Brien of Southsea Folk and ๐ŸŒฑ Mihaela Ioana Lupo Assoc CIPD, People and Performance Specialist. Great to have you both in the room! And a special mention to Mihaela, who also walked away with the raffle prize on her very first visit!

A few things to have on your radar:

The Pompey Sleepout is coming up on 23rd April at Fratton Park (only 250 places available!)

Our Faces and Places of Pompey photography exhibition is raising funds for Connors Toy Library.

Next PBE meeting is 15th April, details to follow!

If you are a Portsmouth business owner or freelancer looking for a warm, genuine networking community, PBE is the real deal.

Come along and grab a famous cheese toastie. You will not regret it.

๐ŸŽค PASS THE MIC: OUR VERY FIRST MEMBER SPOTLIGHT!

Each month we hand the spotlight to a brilliant PBE member to share who they are, what they do, and what makes them tick.
This month we are kicking things off with the wonderful Mandy Magee, our new PBE Chairperson!

Who are you?
Independent marketing consultant, Marketing and Communications Manager at Keppel's Head Hotel, and social media manager for her son's flooring business, Platinum Restoration.

How did you get here?
After 23 years at The Portsmouth News, a health scare prompted a change. A better life balance, and two brilliant clients later, here we are!

Ideal client?
For the hotel, matching customers to everything it has to offer. For flooring, guiding customers through a big investment and making sure they love the result.

Fun fact?
The Keppel's Head dates back to 1779, and nobody still knows how The Nut Bar got its name!

Business as a biscuit?
A Jammie Dodger. Lots of delicious layers, with love and passion at heart.

Thank you Mandy for being our first ever spotlight and for everything you bring to PBE!

Want to read the full interview? Sign up to our weekly email newsletter! Or better yet, come and meet Mandy in person, connect with other brilliant members, and see what PBE is all about.

She will be sharing her journey into architecture, what her work really involves day to day, and what it means to help someone create their dream home from the ground up. The kind of session that reminds you why we do what we do.

And if that is not enough, Maisie also raises money for Waterlooville Food Bank every Christmas. Talented and community minded.

Wednesday 1st April
9am arrival, 9.15am start
SPARK Community Space, Fratton

A warm cuppa and a famous cheese toastie included, naturally.

New faces always welcome, just come along or grab a spot using the link in the comments! ๐Ÿ‘‡
