Accounting software is a great tool, but it doesn't replace bookkeeping.

The adverts make it look easy:

✔ Connect your bank account
✔ Upload receipts
✔ Let the software do the rest

But software can't always tell if a transaction has been categorised correctly, whether VAT has been treated properly, or if something simply doesn't look right.

One small mistake repeated throughout the year can lead to bigger problems when it comes to your accounts and tax returns.

A bookkeeper does more than enter data. We review, check, reconcile, and make sure your records are accurate.

The software is a tool. A bookkeeper helps ensure it's being used correctly.

Are you a self employed or a Landlord with turnover above £50k? You should already be signed up for Making Tax Digital (MTD)

HMRC is rolling out MTD for Income Tax in phases, and many self-employed individuals and landlords will soon need to comply.

Know your start date:

✔️ From 6 April 2026 - If your turnover is above £50,000
✔️ From 6 April 2027 - If your turnover is above £30,000
✔️ From 6 April 2028 - If your turnover is above £20,000

MTD means you’ll need to:
• Keep digital records
• Use MTD-compatible software
• Submit quarterly updates to HMRC
• Complete a final year-end declaration
