🚨 UK FIREWORKS CONSULTATION — YOUR VOICE MATTERS 🚨
You’ve probably already seen the headlines across Facebook, social media and the news:
“Fireworks could be banned.”
“Firework noise limits could be reduced.”
“Major changes to firework laws are being considered.”
But now it’s your turn to respond.
Don’t scroll past this. Don’t assume somebody else will deal with it, and don’t think everything will simply be okay. Changes to UK firework regulations are being considered, and the outcome could affect the fireworks responsible members of the public are allowed to enjoy—as well as the future of the entire UK fireworks industry.
What many people don’t realise is that a large proportion of organised displays are not run by professional display companies. They are organised by volunteers, community groups, sports clubs, schools, charities and local organisations using properly regulated retail fireworks purchased from independent specialist shops.
These displays bring communities together, put smiles on millions of faces and raise vital funds for local causes.
Restricting retail fireworks wouldn’t only affect private garden displays—it could eliminate a huge number of organised community events as well. Most people see an organised display and assume it is run by a professional company using professional fireworks. In reality, many depend entirely on volunteers and legal retail products.
That’s why every UK fireworks retailer, importer, professional display company, community group and responsible firework user must unite and take this consultation seriously.
Don’t assume these proposals won’t affect your part of the industry or your local display. Retailers, display operators, volunteers, employees, charities and customers could all feel the consequences.
This isn’t somebody else’s fight. We need one strong, united voice—and your voice matters, but only if you use it.
