Made good progress at Chorley staging display day 1. Will complete today before 1st day of show on Friday. Nursery very busy at the moment harvesting seed, everything happening at once due to hot weather.😀

Summer planting seed potatoes now available. Good for new potatoes at Christmas.
Varieties include, Charlotte, Jazzy, Rocket, Wilja, Maris Peer, Melody, Kestrel, Sharpes Express and Pentland Javelin.
Last weekend opening but still open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm all year.

The high and low from today. Think the 40.9 is not from today as it wasn't reset last night. The thermometer is in the shade on a telegraph pole on the nursery. 🥵
Reminder if we needed it, to drink plenty of fluids. Time for a cup of tea! 😀

Hopefully the heat will be back to a more normal temperature from next week. Meanwhile keep the watering regime going on all plants, both under cover and outdoors. Water early morning and in the evening and shade vulnerable plants if possible.
If possible leave greenhouse vents and doors open at night to allow the plants to cool down.
When tomato leaves curl upwards it's usually caused by heat stress not a disease.
Whilst these high temperatures don't last for ever they can cause as much damage to young plants as a frost. 😀🌞🌞🌞
