Personal Assistant / School Transport Support Needed- HALE BARNS TRAFFORD
A reliable, compassionate driver is needed to support a bright, sporty 13-year-old boy with school transport during term time.
About the Role
We are looking for a trustworthy and punctual Personal Assistant to provide safe, friendly and consistent school transport for a 13-year-old boy. This is a term-time role and would suit someone who is calm, dependable and happy to be part of a supportive team.
Key Details
• Hours: 7–10 hours per week, Monday to Friday during school term time
• Rate of pay: £16.73 per hour
• Morning journey: Pick up between 7:30am and 9:00am
• Afternoon journey: Collect from school at 3:30pm and drop off by 5:00pm
• Paid time: 90 minutes paid for each journey due to traffic
• Role type: Part of a job share arrangement
About the Young Person
He is a clever, sporty 13-year-old who enjoys classics, current affairs, sport and exercise. He may sleep in the car during journeys, so a compassionate, patient and prompt driver is essential.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Driving the young person safely to school in the morning
• Collecting him from school in the afternoon and bringing him home
• Being punctual, reliable and calm on every journey
• Providing a supportive, respectful and reassuring presence
• Working flexibly as part of a small support team
Who We’re Looking For
This role would be ideal for a retired professional or someone with a caring, responsible nature who is looking for a meaningful part-time role.

About the Role

We’re looking for a compassionate, reliable and professional Personal Assistant to support Jenson (not his real name), a young boy with complex medical needs, in his family home. This is a rewarding role for someone calm, observant and child-centred who can provide safe, consistent care while helping Jenson enjoy a happy and fulfilling daily life.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care with dignity, including washing, dressing, continence care and oral care.
• Support feeding, hydration, medication and respiratory care including Non invasive ventilation,
• following training and care plans.
• Monitor Jenson’s wellbeing, recognise changes in his condition, and respond appropriately.
• Use moving and handling equipment safely and help maintain comfort throughout shifts.
• Encourage communication, play, sensory activities and positive daily experiences.
• Keep accurate records and work closely with family members and professionals.
• Maintain safeguarding, confidentiality and professional standards at all times.
Who We’re Looking For
• Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs is desirable.
• A calm, caring and reliable approach, especially during periods of illness or deterioration.
• Good communication skills and confidence working with families and professionals.
• Willingness to complete training, follow care plans and learn specialist clinical tasks.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and the right to work in the UK.
• Driver over the age of 25 for insurance purposes
• Comfortable working in a family home
Hours

20 hours a week for 4 days Monday, Wednesday Thursday Friday although some flexibility can be discussed.
10-3.00pm

Pay

£15.71 per hour
