Another item I’ve had on the shelf for a while, metallic leather. The perfect thickness for appliqué, essential part of goldwork embroidery. The same quality that has been included in my kits. I will extend the colour range but this is currently what’s in stock.

✨ NEW — Thread Discovery Boxes ✨

After extensive discussion with my head of logistic/packer in chief ( you’ve got a new title!), we unfortunately cannot add any more advent calendars to the production schedule. I also know quite a few of you were disappointed to have missed out so we thought about another way to offer a little box of thready surprises!

So, as part of our new Curiosity Collection, the Thread Discovery Box was born. This is the first product added to this collection, there will be other items added in the coming months. The idea of the curiosity collection are boxes or sets of supplies for the curious stitcher.

Each thread discovery box contains a carefully selected assortment of beautiful threads, with a choice of 12 or 24 skeins/reels and three different collections: Cotton, Silk and Mixed.
Every box is different and the exact contents and colours are part of the surprise. There are no duplicates within a box, and as usual, it is all high quality threads.

And while the idea started with Advent, these aren’t just for December. Think Birthday present or Christmas present.

The 24-thread box is perfect for filling your own reusable Advent calendar, giving you a new thread to discover every day without paying for all the additional packaging. Packaging is kept as a minimum, plain cardboard box, however you can add paper bags, stickers or a magnetic box as an optional extra should you want to pack them for a gift or for advent.

But they’re equally lovely simply as a box of new threads to explore — or as a Christmas present, birthday present or treat for a stitcher who loves discovering something new.

A box of threads. A little mystery. Lots of possibilities.

Each box is packed to order so give me at least 2 weeks of lead time if you have a deadline, more for an international order. All the details are on the website.

Just as quick reminder that I will be placing the orders for the threads needed for the Koi Pond SAL organised by Michelle Baddeley this week, so if you have not placed your order today, I may not be able to guarantee a delivery before the start of the SAL.
I have plenty of stock for the bead pack, and the DMC conversion but there are a limited number of paper pattern now available. So I will keep the listing open but delivery might be delayed. Once the paper pattern have sold out, that option will disappear from the website but fear not, you can still download it directly from Shannon Wasilieff website.

I have received some questions regarding the fabric. I have suggested to most people to contact Megan CoffeeCraftFabrics - UK Fabric Dyer, she has something suitable, I already ordered mine. I am sure plenty of hand dyers out there would be more than happy to also suggest something.

Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

Next year mark the 30th year anniversary of Chatelaine Designs. A SAL is being organised by Maggie Kitschy WIPs and Amy Mayberry due to start on the 1st January 2027. The SAL is the Anniversary Sampler (OCF_ONL017). To support UK stitchers, I have created a pack of supplies for the SAL, it is now available on the website for pre-orders.
If all goes well, it should be ready in plenty of time ahead of the 1st January, but don’t delay placing your order.

The charm in the pattern has been reproduce with approval of Châtelaine Design | Cross Stitch & Embroidery, I do not stock the charm, but can direct you to order yours.

The supply order will be placed in September, so don’t wait to order yours.

I might have started something new, a new design is coming for Threads of Unity, due to be released soon. The same team as last year is working together again to release more charts so if you are not following the account yet, you should.

I fancied autumnal colours and as I was putting some Aurifil Floss palettes together the other day, this set jumped at me.

I’ve been quietly working on the evenings on this. It is quite a journey and my first reproduction, charting and stitching. Learning so much in the process and I’m hopefully it will be release soon.

The original is part of the Embroiderers Guild collection. We have also discovered quite a few surprises along the way that we will be revealing as time goes and we have more information. This is a 17th century band sampler that will be released as part of the collaboration with the Embroiderers’ Guild and Linda Hadden

Aurifil cotton 12wt. Love this thread!!!
Very similar to sulky petite by the way so whenever you use sulky petite, Aurifil cotton12 is a great addition to the colour range.

Curated palettes are coming to the website soon.

One of those supplies that has been on the shelf for a while but not listed on the website. Fil au Chinois - Fil a Gant, translate gloving thread.
A 100% waxed cotton thread, originally used to stitch and repair gloves, now used extensively as the thread of choice for tambour work, specially when starting to learn. It is also a joy to use for appliqué and hand piecing. It is both fine and super strong.
It exists in 30 colours. All now listed on the website (link in the bio), also available as a set of 30 colours with a 10% discount.
