Basket Case

I have planted 236 dahlias over the last 2 days dogding the rain showers. It’s the last of the beds to be planted apart from yhe sunflowers. All the baskets are gone now so I can concentrate on planting.
This is what tends to happen this time of year, Amy and I do a planting swap.
Amy has planted the rest of the beds but she is busy with weddings over the next few days. Hubby put the poles in ready for the support netting.
Over the next few days it’s filling in gaps in the beds, last sowings for succession of flowers and plant up the new perennial bed and planting inside beds for later weddings.
Won’t be long for us to have a field full of flowers.

These beauties went out today and kept in the customer poly tunnels until time yo be put out. They are extra large baskets and 28 of them. I also make up 16 manger baskets on site for the same customer and the plants for them went as well. It gives me more space to put more baskets up.

I am on the homeward strait for hanging baskets for this year. I still have plants left so I can make more! If ordered this week they will be ready beginning of June as I use plug plants and need a week or twonto establish. Lots of plants go into my baskets and I don’t just top plant like diy stores and garden centres so really good value for money as they last until last frost in October!! I have rattans for £25 and wool moss lined for £44 or £49. You can always bring in your own. Message me asap.

I’ve also had a few questions about pricing, so just a quick explanation:

My baskets are designed to last up to 6 months and are planted not just on top, but around the sides too—making them fuller and longer-lasting than standard options. I also offer rattan baskets with top planting only.

Each basket is made to order (not mass produced), so you’re supporting a small British business. They’re carefully grown in my polytunnels, watered and nurtured until conditions are right—usually towards the end of May, as they’re not frost hardy.
