Full-Time Front of House Retail Advisor
Location: Lavender House, Penrhos, near Pwllheli, LL53 7HL
Hours: 35 paid hours per week, worked over five days, including a rotating Saturday or Sunday
Normal working hours: 9.45am–4.45pm

About Lavender House
Lavender House is a family-run independent retail store located just outside Pwllheli.
As we restructure and develop the business over tye next 6 months, we are looking for a dependable, enthusiastic and creative person to take on an important front-of-house role.
The Role
The Front of House and Retail assistant will help oversee the day-to-day running of the store and provide direct support to the Company Directors.
This is a varied, hands-on position combining customer service, visual merchandising, stock handling, till and EPOS duties, social media support and business development.
The successful applicant will lead by example, help maintain high standards throughout the store and contribute practical ideas to increase customer visits and sales—particularly during the quieter winter months.
Main Responsibilities
Customer Service and Sales
Provide warm, friendly and professional customer service.
Welcome customers and help them find suitable products.
Develop a good understanding of our products and seasonal collections.
Encourage sales in a helpful and natural way without making customers feel pressured.
Process purchases, telephone payments, reservations and postal orders accurately.
Respond professionally to customer enquiries, requests and concerns.
Help maintain the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for which Lavender House is known.
Be confident working with customers of all ages and welcoming well-behaved dogs into the store.
Front-of-House
Help oversee the shop floor and support the smooth day-to-day running of the store.
Guide and support other team members when required.
Help organise daily priorities and ensure important tasks are completed.
Assist with opening and closing procedures.
Ensure the shop floor has appropriate staff cover throughout the day.
Take responsibility for the store during periods when a Company Director is unavailable.
Communicate clearly with the Directors and raise any problems promptly.
Be prepared for occasional lone working during the quietest periods.
Visual Merchandising
Create and maintain attractive, commercial displays throughout the store.
Refresh displays regularly to showcase new arrivals, promotions and seasonal collections.
Replenish stock and keep displays neat, inviting and well presented.
Assist with seasonal room changes and promotional displays.
Till, EPOS and Stock Duties
Operate the till and card-payment systems accurately.
Complete full till and EPOS training.
Enter new products onto the EPOS system and ensure stock is correctly recorded before it reaches the shop floor.
Assist with deliveries, including checking, pricing, labelling and displaying new stock.
Report discrepancies and EPOS problems promptly.
Follow the correct procedures for refunds, exchanges and customer orders.
Assist with stocktakes when required.
Social Media and Online Sales during quieter months
During quieter periods, the role will include helping to promote and develop the business. This may involve:
Photographing, measuring, getting prices of products.
Responding to customer enquiries and helping to process telephone and postal orders.
Supporting the continued development of our online and telephone sales.
Helping increase awareness of Lavender House locally and further afield.
Encouraging customers to follow Lavender House online and join our customer community.
Marketing and Business Development
Contribute practical ideas to increase customer visits and sales.
Help develop seasonal promotions, special shopping days and customer events.
Liaise with visiting makers and workshop providers when required.
Help promote events and assist with their organisation and smooth running.
General Duties
Work cooperatively as part of a very small, supportive team.
Help keep the shop floor, till area, staff areas and customer facilities clean, tidy and welcoming.
Assist with general housekeeping duties throughout the store.
Follow all company procedures relating to health and safety, security and customer service.
Be flexible and willing to undertake other reasonable duties when required.
Initial 3 month contract. Moving to permanent.
