Memory Patch

Memory Patch Babies grow so quickly resulting in lots of clothes, full of memories, being left in bags as parents can't bare to part from them.

I take these special items and turn them into unique blankets for you to keep for years to come. I will take your special items of clothing and use them to sew a unique patchwork blanket. I am able to personalise these items with your child's name and date of birth. The hardest part is choosing the outfits you'd like to use to make the blanket! Check the size guidelines below to find out how many

you need to send me. I am excited to introduce the addition of photographs to your blankets - these are an additional £5 per picture and will be printed onto cotton fabric. A brilliant way to include baby photos or photos of loved ones in your blankets. I ask for a £10 deposit at time of booking to secure your slot and to allow me to purchase the necessary materials. To order please send me a message through Facebook or check out my etsy page www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Vixbits. Let me know what size blanket you'd like, the colour and type of backing fabric and any personalisation. Once I have received your items I will endeavour to finish your blanket within 3-4 weeks. Full payment will be required once your item is completed. Size & Prices

I've realised I didn't share photos of the two blankets i made for two sisters just before Christmas. I haven't done many girlie blankets....these were lovely and lots of fun to make. They are both cot size, approx 70cm x 100cm.
Currently have an empty order book so please continue to share my page and get in touch if your interested.

My latest commission arrived safely yesterday so I thought I'd share some pictures of it. This was a brilliantly massive job...over 60 items and finished size of 180cm x 200cm (size of my double bed!) The clothes ranged from baby vests to ages 7-8 t shirts - a lovely example of how these blankets can encapsulate those precious years!!

Still working on the new website so watch this space...in the meantime please keep commenting and sharing :)

I've just finished my first blanket for quite a long time....and it reminded me how much I love and enjoy making them. The new Janome machine certainly helps as it is a dream to use, but the whole process of turning little clothes into a snuggly blanket is just so rewarding. I'm going to be updating the page a bit over the next week, so please do like, comment and if you dont mind share the page :) Pictures of Taher's blanket to come once its safely arrived at his mums!

Life always seems to get in the way of sewing! I started a new job a few weeks ago so my evenings have been spent reading and learning as opposed to cutting and sewing! I did manage to make some hammocks for our new furry friends though :)

If anyone would like anything made for Christmas gifts then please get in touch....i can do blankets, cushions, bags, crayon/makeup/brush rolls, dog collars...anything really! send me a message

It's not a blanket but I made this the other day for a friend's son's birthday. I'm thinking of making some more to sell but wondered what people would pay for something like This? Also what fabric patterns would you want and would you prefer crayons/felts/pencils?? I could also make these to be first aid kits/make up brush holders or art supplies so not just for small people!! I'd really appreciate your feedback!

It's been a quiet few months for my sewing machine as I turned my attention to doing up the garden, but now it's a bit chillier I've brought my sewing machune back in from the shed. I've finally finished Lilly's Peter Pan inspired blanket to go in her room. I used a Riley Blake 'Neverland' charm pack, then cut the borders and little squares to make the design out of cotton fabric. It's backed on super soft minky and Lilly absolutely loves it!! I've not made a blanket with a border like this before and though it was time consuming i think it's worth it. I hope you like it.
If anyone would like a blanket made in time for Christmas please get in touch as I'd love to get back to making more!! Vikki

We had a lovely weekend away at my sister's celebrating my nephew turning 21. Toby wanted a space themed party shirt so I decided to make him one and as I had fabric left over I made Lilly a matching dress. They looked adorable but were hopeless to photograph!

I've definitely caught the sewing bug and have been beavering away on my sewing machine since finishing Sebbie's blanket last week. Here's a peak of the fabric and you'll have to wait until saturday to see what I made!!!

It's such a compliment when a customer comes back to you not once but twice! Sebbie is the new baby brother to Loukas and Theo who each have their very own blanket and when their mum messaged me recently to ask for another in time for Sebbie's first birthday (which is today...happy birthday little man) I just had to say yes, even though it's been a few years since I even touched my sewing machine. I enjoyed every step of making this blanket and I hope you like it too.
