If I’d listened to everyone who offered advice over the years, life would look very different around here. People always mean well and speak out of genuine care or concern, but sometimes you just have to trust your own path.

​Sam would still be living down in the Midlands, which means we probably wouldn't even be together, let alone running a business side by side.

​We wouldn't have had our full on DIY dream wedding. We’d have settled for something smaller in a generic corporate venue for the exact same budget.

​I’d still be sitting in a teaching job that was making me miserable, purely because it was the safe option.

​Sam would still be working as a science tech instead of taking the leap to run One Mama One Shed full time with me.

​We wouldn't have taken the gamble on buying our engraving gear to make our enamelware.

​The kiddos would be in school full time, missing out on all the home ed adventures, random life experiences, and long road trips together.

​And we’d probably be dropping thousands on the odd all inclusive holiday every couple of years, instead of seeing the world affordably through housesitting and pet snuggling.

​We appreciate everyone who has looked out for us along the way, but trusting your own gut is where the magic happens ☕️

Funny how life works, isn't it? Can't live with them, definitely can't live without them.

​School just was not the right choice for our family for so many reasons, but the biggest one was simple: I wanted to be right there with my kiddos, witnessing their lives first hand and experiencing every single moment alongside them.

​And yet, I also happen to really dislike mess and deeply cherish my personal space. Choosing to home educate while running a small business when you like things neat and quiet is certainly a character building exercise.

​Between craft projects on the table, endless cups of tea, and never being more than two feet away from someone who needs something, it is pure chaotic magic. I wouldn't trade being in the front row of their childhood for anything, but if anyone finds my personal space, please send it back to the workshop.

Keeping it proper real today - greasy hair, sleeping baby in tow, and a real talk about AI ☕️

Yesterday Instagram slapped an AI Content label on my post, and it stung a bit. I wanted to pop on and explain what actually happens behind the scenes.

Every design is created by me. We use real photos of our enamelware (shot by real photographers), but to save time and budget, I use AI purely to tweak the background scenery for new designs - like our new back to school bowl.

AI isn't making our products or doing the artwork. It's just helping a small husband and wife business stay afloat while keeping things fresh!
