The v**e tax countdown is on. Here's your reminder.

The new Va**ng Products Duty takes effect right across the UK on 1 October 2026. We've covered it a few times this quarter, so here's a quick recap of the facts as the date gets closer.

The duty is £2.20 per 10ml, that's 22p per ml of e-liquid. With 20% VAT added on top, the real rise works out at around £2.64 per 10ml. It applies to all e-liquid, including every strength right down to zero-nicotine, and to nic shots. Hardware stays tax-free, so devices, coils, tanks and empty pods are unaffected.

No need to panic. It's one date and one duty, a UK-wide change for every shop, not just us. We'll help you understand exactly what it means for you.

No ID, no sale. Here's why that matters to us.

Va**ng is for adults, full stop. Our products are strictly for over-18s, and as a responsible retailer we take that seriously.

Here's how it works. We operate Challenge 25, so if you look under 25 we'll politely ask for ID. It's nothing personal. A valid passport, driving licence or PASS card does the job nicely. No proof of age means no sale, every time, no exceptions. And it's not just in store, age checks apply to every online order too.

Why do we bother? Because we're a proud UKVIA member and we back high standards that keep va**ng firmly an adults-only choice.

So please don't be offended if we ask. Got your ID handy? Bring it along to any of our shops.

The v**e tax is coming, but here's what's NOT changing.

There's been a lot of talk about the new Va**ng Products Duty, so let's take the calm view for a moment and remember what stays exactly the same.

First things first: the duty only touches the liquid. So a lot of what you already know carries on just as before.

Your hardware is fine. Devices, coils, tanks and empty pods aren't taxed, so your kit isn't affected. Refilling works exactly as it does now, nothing to relearn. Our service doesn't change either, same three shops, same team, same advice and same next-day delivery. And we'll keep explaining the changes in plain English whenever you want to ask.

It's one change, not a whole new world. A single duty on liquid, and we're here to help you through it.

The v**e tax, part two: what it actually means for you.

Last time we covered the basics of the new Va**ng Products Duty. Here's how it affects different setups.

The key thing to understand is that the duty is based on volume. It's charged per ml of liquid, so the more liquid a product holds, the more duty it carries.

That means it works out differently depending on what you use. A 100ml shortfill holds ten times the liquid of a 10ml bottle, so it carries ten times the duty. A small prefilled pod holds very little, so it's affected the least.

A couple of helpful pointers: stop comparing products by shelf price alone and start looking at the total ml you actually use. And remember hardware isn't taxed, so refillable kits give you more control.
